I think it would be a good idea because if you mess up on a post you can fix your errors.

It's in the "common suggestions" list. There's multiple more recent threads made about the same suggestion.
There was no reason to bring back one of the first incarnations, though it does REALLY show how much of a repeat topic it is.

Bringing back old threads is highly discouraged, but not against the rules; why? Because some threads can be brought back and continued. But the post you brought this one back with is spam. "There should be.."
There is no point to that post. All it does is bring back an already repeated topic.

There are newer threads with more updated opinions about whether or not we should have this feature. Look them up. I think it's at a "maybe" rather than a definite no by now.
