i think there should be a tab in the control panel that allows you to send friend requests

because its so hard to go to a friends page and click "add friend"...

Anyways, I believe that this is being implemented into AG3, so nothing will be done to it in this version.

In AG3, users now must send mutual friend requests to be added to the friends list, as in you request them, and they accept you, and vice-versa. If not, you can always do a one-way "follower" status. It's in the sticky list in the AG3 forum. Anyway, this is already added in the whole shibang.
