Inspired by "Ask A Muslim," I am creating this thread to answer any questions about Judaism. I will only answer questions about the religion, not why I believe in it, or how I can prove that it exists.
Just pointing out that it's obvious that history has been unkind to Jewish people.
I understand that, but next time could we please do that in a more respectful manner? I don't mean to offend anyone here, but when we talk about these tragic events I would like to be respectful.
Only when do they try to destroy us do we get nasty.
I agree with that. Henry Golde came to my school to talk about his time during the holocaust. He said that when Poland was invaded, his city didn't go quietly: they threw Molotov cocktails and other makeshift bombs at Nazi tanks and soldiers, threw rocks and glass bottles, they fought back. The standard history books portray it as 'they were fine with it, almost inviting and accepting.'

Yes I have. Although the Polish Resistance fought valiantly, they really had no chance. I think the outcome where the Nazis decimated the Resistance and then the Nazis were ousted by the Russians was set up just so it would be much easier for Russia to set up a communist rule without opposition. Kind of a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" stance. Stalin knew that the people who were fighting for an independent Poland would turn on him when he took over, so he let them get killed.
does the jews have a different year wich we live in then 2011? (and other new years day?) i heared somewhere that the muslims and buddhists do have that. so i was wondering.

Living in another year then the present makes no sense. Do we have a calendar? Yes. It is lunar based and the current year is 5770. It's not like we use it for everyday life, just for knowing when holidays are.
This may have been answered already, but are there any limitations on where you can/can't go? Like some religions believe that certain forms of entertainment are a waste of time and serve no purpose other than to keep you from learning how to get closer to God, so they're restricted. Anything like that?
I do not think that we have restrictions on places that we are allowed to go. But I think that we are forbidden to go to brothels and the like because of adultery laws.
There is one place, a certain chamber in our holy temple. Only the highest priest was allowed to go in there, and only on a certain occasion. Anyone else who went in there supposedly died instantly. I heard the used to tie the priest to a rope before going in, so that if he dies, they can pull him out. I doesn't exist today, but the dome of the rock in israel is where we believe it used to stand, so we don't go in there.

1432 in Islam! Just if you were wondering
My question: What happens in a synagogue? I mean, I know Muslims pray + do community stuff and the main room has a big carpet, Christians go and listen to their Pastor and the main room has a bunch of benches and a stage -- but what do Jews do within a synagogue and what does the inside of one look like?
