So it has recently been reported that the rebels have taken most of Tripoli and have even taken Gadaffis compound, so what is next for Libya? What will happen to Gadaffi and his supporters? Is Libya destined for more tyranny or a bright new future?

everybody knows just how insane gaddafi is, and so with deductive reasoning, you can see that the only way to end this is with the nutjob's head on a stick.

His family will/could carry on, he has the money and support to form a very destructive insurgency that could plague Libya for years to come,

The rebels put a 2million dollar bounty on his head.

They are definitely not going to have a bright new future speaking we are bombing them right now... To top that what started this was the Libyan Government was killing their own people.

what started this is the rebels starting to protest after they saw what happend in egypt. but thats not something you can do against gadaffi.
if the rebels never started it then gadaffi never killed them. and it's also not like china that gadaffi forces the libya people to stay in libya. the people ware free to leave the country at any time.

Well, this is wrong.

The revolt was caused by the arrest of a lawyer who was defending the prisoners in gaddafi's prisons.
the people revolted also because gaddafi had killed a little over 1000 prisoner a few years back. all these factors along with corruption gaddafi had, ruling libya for over 42 years and stealing over billions of dollars from oil sales leaving libyans without benefiting from oil.

Yes, but he doesn't need to. The population of Libya isn't insanely rich. The majority of the population doesn't have the money or resources to just get up and leave.

Gadaffi is no longer in Lybia: he's hiding in Algeria.

The remaining loyalists in Tripoli are expected to surrender soon.

I think that if the people in libya can get over any bad blood between them and together form a well thought-out democracy, I think they will be able end this conflict. Although if they can't do that it will fall apart into another tyranny. We can all hope though.
