If you want to become a street side vendor, you must first get a permit which costs money and are often in limited supply. The reason behind this is because businesses are corrupt and must be limited by the government and permits help protect consumers and don't harm innocent people in any way what-so-ever. At least... that's what you're going to hear from advocates who support vending licenses.
But let's suppose we allow people to sell food from vending carts and stands on the side of the street. What could we expect to see? For one, children wont be shut down by police officers.
I can understand the need for the licenses, when the products are being sold by adults, but a child!? A lemonade stand of all things, this may just be one of the stupidest things I've heard of.
I understand the need for the taxi medallions, but their costs are ridiculous, it shouldn't cost over half a million dollars to own a taxi.
those kids need to pay for the licenses AND BACKGROUND CHECKS! they're probably KGB or Chinese agents selling lemonade to american passers by with mind ray lemonade that would seem delicious, but makes anyone who drinks it sleeper agents!
anywho i mean how low do you have to go to start busting children selling lemonade, really? jesus i'm moving to Norway >_>
If they don't have a license, then it's not honest money.
yes, that 5.50 they made from that lemonade IS DIRTY MONEY!, send them to jail, and take all their assets, and reposes that little tykes electric car they have!
If this was a really about making sure that the products were safe then they wouldn't be charging a huge monthly fee. At themost it would be one fee, or many small fees.
[quote]yes, that 5.50 they made from that lemonade IS DIRTY MONEY![quote] Again, it dosen't matter who you are, what your selling, or how much you're charging.

you do know that the law just fails, i mean your not making america less free if you just don't let the little lemonade stand kids just do what they do best

Okay really? I understand what you're saying, and I agree. You shouldn't just be allowed to sell whatever you want off the streets. But, really, they are children, selling a cheap drink. It's a learning experience more than anything. And then you have the police come and tell them they're doing something bad? That's just messed up.
Some things just require commen sense, and you can't law off every possible situation. You can't honestly tell me that you believe that children selling a drink intend harm and are greedy *******s who loaded some extra ingredient into the drinks to increase their profit margins, can you? CAN you? I seriously doubt it.
you do know that the law just fails, i mean your not making america less free if you just don't let the little lemonade stand kids just do what they do best
I'm not saying that law is a good thing, nor a bad thing; only that it is the law. That's partly why I mentioned Prohibition: It was a vastly unpopular law, but it was still a law.
