Growing Civilization
You are a ruler that must lead a poor civilization to become rich, famous and powerful. Done explaining now.

Civilization Sheet
Civilization Name:
Civilization Type:
Happiness: 40%, Sad
Hunger: 40%, Hungry
Thirst: 40%, Thirsty
Entertainment: 20%, Very Bored
Pollution: 0%, Clean
Government Type:
Government Status: 60%, Stable
Fame: 0
Reputation: 0
Size: Very Small
Location:
Wealth: Very Poor
Technology: Poor
Buildings: 1 Small Dirt House
Population: 2 Adult Citizens, 1 Child Citizen
Army: None
Resources: 20 Wood, 5 Stone
Trading Items: None
Trading With: No one
Ally Civilizations: None
Enemy Civilizations: None

Civilization Types
There are different types of civilizations. If you choose a type, you MUST stay to that type. Your actions must also be based on that type.

Military: Military Civilizations rely on their armies and superior forces to crush other civilizations for their resources and land. They usually make the most enemies and very few allies.

Trading: Trading Civilizations rely on trading for money and resources to build up their own home. They usually make many allies and usually no enemies.

Producer: Producer Civilizations rely on growing and making their own resources to build up their own homes. They are usually the most neutral and other civilizations will normally ignore them.

Civilization Needs
A Civilization must be happy, must have enough food and water, must be entertained enough, and must be clean enough. Those low stats may seem discouraging, but as your civilization advances, those stats may become easier to raise, (or lower). If needs are not met, then the population will leave to other places. Once your population is down to 0, it will be very difficult to get the population back up. If you are unable to get back any people to the civilization, the buildings will slowly be taken over Mother Nature and the civilization will eventually become corrupt, and you must restart your civilization.

Government
Government is a big part of life in a civilization. Here are the various types you can choose.

Democracy: In Democracy, everyone has the freedom to vote if they're at the minimum age or higher. Democracy usually leaves many citizens happy, some maybe not. But most of all it is very stable, but it leaves you in less control of the government.

Autocracy: Autocracy is the government which only one person rules. All choices are from the ruler and everyone else must follow. Autocracy can be very unstable at times, leaving the population unhappy, but it leaves you in absolute control.

Monarchy: A Monarchy is a type of government which only family members can join in. These are very common, but in the end they usually end up corrupt if not controlled properly.

Plutocracy: Plutocracy only allows rich citizens to participate in government. This type of government is somewhat common, but usually end up corrupt as well.

Republic: In Republic Civilizations, all citizens must follow the law and do as the government says. Like Democracy, only more harsh.

Fame and Reputation
Fame and Reputation are similar things.

Fame is how popular your civilization is. Fame doesn't affect your civilization much, but it is good thing to have. Fame can be increased by expanding your lands, trading with other lands, conquering other lands, etc.

Reputation is what other civilizations think of you. The higher (positive numbers) your reputation is, the more civilizations want to become your ally and the more foreigners will settle in your lands. The lower (negative numbers) your reputation is, the more civilizations want to become your enemies and the more your population will want to leave your lands.

Locations
Locations can greatly affect your gameplay. Choose one, and soon your civilization may expand to other locations.

Grasslands: Grasslands are perfect for large building areas, but do not offer much resources.

Forests: Forests do not have much space, but they do have plenty of lumber from trees for building and such.

Riverside: Riversides are very popular because they are good areas for farming. Floods can sometimes occur, which is a disadvantage until you develop a technology to block them.

Desert: Deserts are uncommon places for civilizations, since they are harder to survive in and have very few resources.

Mountains: Mountains are sometimes left untouched, but they provide great protection from enemy attacks. They also have plenty resources, besides lumber.

Valley: Valleys are surrounded by mountains, which are great protection against enemy attacks, as mentioned before. Though sometimes, civilizations may be limited to space of the valley and cannot move out.

Beach: Beaches are not too popular, but they are great for fishing. There are not many resources on a beach, but usually there is a nearby forest or grassland nearby.

Snowlands: Snowlands are cold, and occasionally hide resources around. These are very difficult to survive, much like deserts.

Technology
Technology is how advanced your technology is (can't explain better). The better it is, the better your builds will become.

I don't promise this will go on for long.

One of your citizens attempts to make fire in your civilization. It takes quite a while and consumes some of your resources, but it is a success! The fire has a few hours left before it burns out, so you must keep it going. You then send out two adult citizens to scout out Nolon.

A.) Build Stone Tipped Spears (1 Wood and 1 Stone per Spear)
B.) Build Wooden Building Tools (2 Wood per tool)
C.) Use up some Wood to keep the Fire burning
D.) Wait

The citizens make a fire, and surprisingly, it works just fine. But the fire only has a few more hours left to burn, so you must find a way to keep it going. They then build wooden tools and spears, but only manage to make two of each.

A.) Use up some Wood to keep the Fire burning
B.) Send out some people to scout (Danger)
C.) Wait

I use wood for the fire, and send people to scout Rodos, and to tell them we come in peace.

After using up a couple of wooden logs to keep the fire going, you send out some scouts to Rodos. After a short little meeting, the Rodos send a scout to your village with a letter saying, "Greetings. I hope in the future we may have no conflicts. We may contact each other later. -Leader of Rodos."

You use up some wood to keep the fire going and then make some spears for later purposes. Later a scout from Muradas sends a letter from their Leader. It reads, "Greetings, I have heard news that you are a new trading civilization. We may make truce so that we become allies soon. You may contact me if needed.

This forum game is now free choice, but MAKE SURE that your choices are not too advanced for your civilization.

Free choice eh? Cool.

So I read the letter but just to be sure, I send 1 adult citizen to spy their territory to learn more about their Government, Type and their status.

Oh I also send the other adult and the child with the 2 spears I made before to find some lake nearby and hunt fish for food.

The first adult sets out for a while, camping in the bushes to research their lifestyle. Meanwhile, the other adult and the child ready their spears for fishing. It takes a while for them to look for a water source, but nearby down in a valley lies a small lake, which is seeming full of fish and other types of aquatic life. They throw their spears around here and there, but only manage to catch 7 fish before tiring out and going back. The other adult citizen is still camping out.

(Copy and paste the sheet that I post with, it is always/usually updated)

It is late night, and the adult citizen has come back with much information. He slips a note in your hands, and goes to sleep.

"I have learned much, and I can tell you a lot. Their Government Type is Democracy and their status is well maintained. Citizens are flocking towards their civilization due to their mass production and high renown. I have also learned that they are building up fortress walls of stone. I presume that our civilization is in danger of becoming corrupt if we don't become allies."

It is the next morning, and the population is up and going. What do you do now?

I send a message to their king/ruler that I accept to form a pact of truce and also tell in the note that we trade fish. Then I build a third spear and send the whole family for fishing. Hopefully I'll get more fish this time.

The message goes out to the leader of Muradas and you both agree to become allies. Your fish trading note also goes, but they don't seem too interested. Here is their reply, "We aren't very interested in trading with you, but I suspect that Nolon, the trading civilization, may want to set a deal with you instead." Later the whole family grabs their spears and travels back to the lake in the valley, and this time they are much more successful. They catch 18 more fish, which greatly boosts their happiness and entertainment. They start to feel a bit hungry though, and they head back to the village.
