I understand how it can link into your religion, sure.
But how can you base your religion on lyrics from a band?
That doesn't show true faith in your Gods.
In my opinion.

I didn't decide to be Christian because of hymns >.>

because of music...? what? makes no sense what so ever just because one religion has better songs, if anything come over to atheism, our music consists of anything that's not religious music, you have a much wider selection

Your music taste should have nothing to do with your religious choice. It should be about spirituality, connection and belonging. It's awesome if your music taste ties in with your religious themes.

I'm Christian, i don't like "Christian music", does that mean i should convert? No.

Worst argument ever. Of all time.

I'm not saying this because I disagree with your choice of religion, I'm an Atheist myself and I think Norse mythology is way cooler than Christianity, but saying you follow the religion because it is cool and your favourite bands do it is just nonsense.

Faith should be something you believe in (or simply no belief at all), not something you want to believe in.

I see wars about christians example: Holy Land war, destroying whole nation in America, South and North

Religion was not what caused either of these wars, it was just a way for get the population to accept and participate in them.

Even A. Hitler thought god help him

He thought God helped him, yes, but it was his dream of a German Europe that drove him to start the war, not his religious beliefs.

And i read a Bible, hahahahaa, it was a very big fairytell, God created world only 7 days??

The old Norse mythology is almost as ridiculous if you read their story of creation. And if you choose to only worship the Gods and ignore the details about the creation of the world and such, how come Christians can't do the same?

I'm not saying any of this because I disagree with your choice, I'm a Swedish Atheist and I'd pick old Norse mythology over Christianity any day (if I actually wanted to pick something), I just think your arguments and your reasoning behind it is completely retarded (no offence meant).

Dude theresa difference between putting your faith in a God/ gods and devoting your life to their worship, and thinking an ancient religion is cool, you don't follow it, you like it theresa difference.

Norse Mythology is easily as barmy as Christian mythology, seven legged horses, hammers that create thunder, the norse creation myth is no more believable than the one in the bible.

you know the atheism is part of christianity but you don´t choose a side but you believe there´s a God and Satan, am i right and of course i know that norse mythology about creating a world is most ridiculos thing but it is even better lie than Bible story. I like the jewelry, weapons, traditions and belifes. In christianity all spirits and things are made by Satan. The word name ´´beauty´´ camed in renaissance becouse in middle ages everything was god and witchhunt. So... guys do you know how our ancesters called Christians. They called them dead god beliver and made a lot of fun about it. I know how is life in Sweden everywhere is neo-nazi so

Atheismisbelief in the existence of God or gods.

No, you are not right.

If you don't believe in the religion, you do not follow the religion. You simply like it. You just admitted you do not believe in it.

@KMTrolla
First, you didn't answer my questions on the first page. Please do that.
Second, how can you start believing in the nordic gods after listening to music? I mean, you gotta know that, like I already say, neo-paganism has almost nothing to do with the ancient, historical cultures and religions, they are modern movements. I love nordic myths, I love folk music and folk metal, and I'd never even think of really believe in all those myths; because it's all it is, the Edda is a collection of stories and can't be taken any more seriously than the bible.

LMAO, no.

That's an argument for not believing in the Christian myth, not an argument for believing in the old Norse one.

Anyways, what he's said combined with the fact that his name contains the word "Troll" makes me think he's actually trolling.

Okay, first of all:

Okay, let's be serious. It seems to me that all you're doing is to say that Christianity is bad. You like folk metal and so you choose to believe in Odinism although you don't really believe in it. It's just a reaction to your hate against Christianity. I might be wrong but that's how it seems to me.

I would also like to know that.

WTF? Atheism is a lack of believe in God, so how is it a part of Christianity?

I know how is life in Sweden everywhere is neo-nazi so

Ehm, no. And I don't really know what you want to say with that. Do like or hate that there are neo-nazis?

wow, I was only gone for at least 24hrs, and you already made yourself look like a fool by saying you don't believe Odinism and are only doing it for the music. congratulations, this thread was completely unnecessary. Oh yeah, there are more neo-nazis in the U.S. than there is in germany, sweden, and any of the other european nations combined. please get your facts straight.

other than the fact that the music is cool, what do you know about the legends of odin, or thor, or whoever?
