A weird ting happened to me recently while i was trying to fall asleep. What happened was I closed my eyes breifly and opened them agian and something caught the corner of my eye, when I looked straight at it, it was my swimming trunks and they were floating close to a chair, it was rigid also so I could see the whole front of it. When I tried to figure out why it was there it started to disintigrate and then was gone. I dunno what caused that to happen because I was definatly looking at it while not being asleep. My guess is that when I closed my eyes my subconsious mind turned on and when I opened them agian the two minds were still working so that was the dream fitting into what I was actualy seeing. Also that same night I closed my eyes agian and saw very bright flashes like lightning under my eyelids just before i fell asleep.
Did this ever happen to anyone?

You mean, something like sleepiness? I guess that is pretty normal, if for example you got in bed late the evening before, or had a hard day.

I think he means he wasn't tired, but things weren't registering to him (sorry habbit to assume sex of some1).

I have been tricked like this a couple of times. Usually happens if I see a shadow and try to work out what it is, as it looks like something really odd but when I check it out, it's just a crumpled cloth or something.

I have hard wood floors, the cat was walking right down the middel of it MOVING. and I don't have anything on my ceiling that looks like shorts.

Does second-hand smoking it count? I have friends who sometimes smoke that stuff near me.

We probobly shoudn't be talking about maijuana or the thread will get locked.

Anyway, one time I went to bed in my room and woke up on my couch. another time, I went to bed like normal. I woke up the next morning and my mom said that when she went into my room to get something (after I was asleep) and said my eyes were open looking right at her. I didn't recall anything.

happens to me all the time. it might be because you are sleepwalking. sometimes we can remember the things that happened last night. we see things that arent there and eventually fully wake up or just go back to sleep naturally. happened to me last night actually:

i saw porkupines in my room.

Well I closed my eyes and then opened them and I was in the same place, also no time had passed (Well maybe a second or two) so I dout i was sleepwalking.

In a sleep state your perception of time is altered. So it's possible it could have actually been hours but to it you seemed instantaneous.

it could also happen imideatly if you wake up. sometimes you do remember things and since your brain is half in a dream and half in reality things can "change" really quickly. and as mage said. you cant feel time while sleepwalking

I was looking at the clock when I closed and opened my eyes.
