mass blackout

happened today, some of you may have been in it and already know. but san diego, some of orange county, i believe a city in arizona, tijuana, and i believe baja.

apparently over 5 million people were effected. just goes to show how much the world relies on electricity

of course we rely on electricity. we would be stuck in the colonial period of technology without it. back when batteries were considered parlor tricks for guests to get a "shock" at dinner parties.

I experienced that too! When the electricity came back on my neighbors were celebrating like crazy.

How long was it out? Also...if you're in the city, no power is a big problem if it's for more than a few hours. Food goes bad, no water, no heat, no lights unless you have candles/flashlights.

Yea its incredibly dark with the high buildings blocking the moon off and if refrigorators go out for more than a week, the food will start to decay and stink horribly.

No fire alarm. If there is fire when you sleep you die and can't call the fireman.

But it happened here a while ago to for 8 hours. Glad it was in the middle of the night.
