Thoughts? I just wonder how long it took them to pump up the ships :P
seems to me they are just trying to protect their oil tankers. they wouldn't dare attack anybody these days because the U.N. would send a strike force on them.
They don't want to attack anyone... just mark their presence on the water and show off their naval power. After all a lot of countries have already done these things, so why not them?

just what i was thinking. russia for example does that all the time. sometimes even flying about 100 meters from our air space just to see if we still react fast to intercept them. but they never realy get in our air or water space. it's just some political/military game.

The only difference I see here is that Irans leader seems to be a bit unstable, if he has control over the ships which I would assume he does. I'm not sure how much that means, but it could be big.

So basically this is the military version of the annoying little brother who sits next to you in the car ride with his finger a centimeter away from you while saying "I'm not touching you".

i feel another war coming up if that is how the most of usa is thinking.

If you read the article, you would read that the "ship" only has displacement of 1400 tons. The Iranian Navy only has frigates, no carriers or battleships.

Something like that. It's similar to how the Mexican-American War started: put troops near a potential enemy and see what happens.
I hope Iran is preparing to get its *** handed to it. American leaders are immature and retarded. I hope our generals and admirals are smart enough not to relay potential threats to anyone in DoD or the white house. I would also recommend Iran not go within four miles of any Israeli ships.

Yeah. Remember how WMDs were a 'slam dunk'? That didn't turn out too well either.
I feel like lately the government has had the common sense no to entangle itself in needless conflicts but you can never be sure. I'm going to say that it's a mixture of showing off, while protecting their interests.

I was thinking more that Iran might actually attack before the US did.

Thats not in the article, it might be in the video though since I didn't watch that. The article makes it sound like several ships would be near the USA border, not one. It also doesn't mention the ships size at all.
