Yeah. Stopping to settle is hardly worth it until your Hun-Horde is completely depleted, whcih should take you all the way to the Visigoths and easterns fringes of the Franks if you're beast like me.

Elephants are too slow, take far too long to train and make any form of turn-based movement a pain.
And why don't you like Horse Archers? In an non-enclosed battlefield you can force your enemy into action with them, then quickly retreat behind your infantry before even the fastest cavalry can hurt you.
