it's like this (true) story
an officer in sicily was watching his men clear a roadblock, they had concocted a plan and whatnot. when they distracted a tiger at the roadblock, and were about to disable it with a bazooka, but the officer asked if he could do it. They thought nothing of it since they done it many times and it was far from dangerous, and the roadblock was cleared.
After the unit was sent for rest and refit and awards were presented, the officer was recommended for the silver star, from one of the other officers watching.
