Hello. While I was exploring AG-based Xats, I've met several unactive/banned/"old-school" AG Users. Most of them said that, one of the main reasons to their inactivity here is that the site was better before.
Is that true?
How better? They say that the threads had more quality back in time.
Well, I can't tell if it was. I joined June 26th, so that's not too much knowledge on our awesome site...
I care, because while I don't give a **** about my AP, my post count is important to me.
I feel bad reporting it to the mods though, because they shouldn't have to spend 20 minutes going to down a list deleting a hundred spammy comments, when the admins probably have an easier way to do it, especially if they can just delete anything that's been flagged or something to that effect.
I'm annoyed at all this worship/praise of TTICA. I don't even like calling it TTICA. Tee-ti-ca, t-ti-ca or whatever. Thinking of that thread as being "the glory days" is laughable. It's soapy, mushy, soppy and syrupy. It's overemotional and melodramatic. I'll remember the thread for all the good conversation I had, not spouting out platitudes.
Exaggeration is a tool commonly used, also I was referring to those people who had commented on the thread up to that point, of which no were really against the thread, to the extent of my knowledge.
I don't necessarily worship it, but I will gladly admit that I did have a lot of fun with it, and I picked up more trivia in that thread than I did anywhere else.
No one was really against the thread to my knowledge either.
Eh, it's quite hokey seeing some people who seem to be revering the thread as if it was very special.
The NES was special. TTICA was a huge chatroom. I guess it would have been even more special if it didn't get ***** to death. But it wasn't amazing or anything. Just a large chatroom (where I happened to post a thousand times).
Several of us did, I'm sure Strop, Orion, and pH had their posts cut to, they were the ones I was most familiar with. I think it stands out simply because of how unique it was in respect to traditional Armor Games threads.
I care, because while I don't give a **** about my AP, my post count is important to me.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind them deleting my posts if I spammed around the forums, but losing 600+ posts in a day bothers me a little. I wouldn't mind losing a lot of AP either, but I care about the post count to some extent because whenever I'm on AG I spend most of my time within the forums. It's sort of like getting far in a game then losing some of your progress to me.
As for the TTICA, I liked it for a while, but after page 700 I stopped caring about it. Around that time people would just post as if it was an actual chat room, not caring about the current topic and changing it every few minutes. Before that it was stable and you could get decent posts/discussion from it, but then it deteriorated. I believe one day it got 200-400 posts from people treating it as an actual chat room.
