The reason is because nukes are first of all very dangerous, and with an unstable theocratic regime like in Iran, they could be used for simply terrorist purposes. Another reason is one that people don't like to acknowledge, but nukes are a great deterrant from declaring war and stuff, and if Iran makes any more belligrant actions, than the US and Israel won't want their biggest enemy to have nuclear capabilities.
You can't disagree with facts. Iran's government is unstable, and it is theocratic. I'm not saying the two go hand in hand, and there are terrorists in Iran who would very much like to get their hands on nuclear weapons.
I think it is because if Iraq would have Nukes they would gain in power. But as happened before there is the possibility that one madman takes over control of Iraq and if you give a lunatic a nuke it would be safe on earth.
Quick google for a source, didn't read much so I don't know if it's entirely accurate. However, it's pretty universally agreed that Iran's government is not the shining tower of stability.

I'm not an American and I don't know much about Terry Jones, but I looked it up and I don't think he will make it (soon) to the oval office. But I don't see the problem to, the man is a comedian, actor etc. I think he will take a job as president seriously and not nuke random countries.

He's from South Whales and due to the NBC clause of the constitution, he couldn't be president, but that's beside the point. Reagan was an actor/commedian too and he did fine.
Economic sanctions only destabilize a nation more and more. BTW I think Iran made a mistake by announcing its intentions they should have done it like Pakistan It like every body knew that we are making nukes but their was no evidence.
