@thelistman: I don't think Gravel considers himself a libertarian. He probably considers himself more of a socialist than anything else.
@Drestro2: Hillary needs to support Obama, or the Democratic party needs to come down on her HARD. If she sabotages the Dem chance in the general just to make herself look good, the party might as well cast her out.
@Antolini: Two things
1) Obama has lots of political experience. He's been involved in community activism and organization since he graduated with his Law degree, working his way up from the Chicago city council, to the Illinois State Senate, to the US Senate. He has much more political experience than Hillary, who at this point has only been a US Senator for 7 years. That's her ONLY elected official experience.
2) I don't think Hillary gives Obama the best chance of winning as VP. She's too much of a Washington insider, and would dilute his message of change. I see three possibilities for the VP nom: Former Gov. Bill Richardson, who would help carry the Hispanic vote that has usually been a Republican thing, putting NM, TX, and NV in play for the Dems. Former Gov Jim Webb, who would help carry Southern states that have traditionally been republican, or Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas, who would help carry the female vote and the Midwestern states that have been Republican strongholds. Hillary brings... New York, which is already a Dem stronghold. Wooo.
