I want to get this game so bad. My parents don't like me playing M games though. Do you think it is a harsh M game or its not too bad?

Well, it does have :
Stabbing people in the faces,
Holding weapons right IN their faces for 2 secs after their dead,
People cursing in the background,
And some more violence D:
But if your parents can stand that, then BUY IT!

My real question that I should have asked is whether or not there was gore. I know blood CAN be turned off but is the gore?

No, I wouldn't consider it gory. Generally you just stab people, they bleed a little, then they fall asleep for a very long time. If you want to get an idea of how gory the game will be, watch some trailers for the ACR multiplayer. That's about as "gory" as the game will get, even in the campaign.

If you played any of the other Assassin Creed games, you'll know what to expect.

I'm going to assume you haven't played any of the other AC games yet. If you want to get into the story, I highly recommend you try to rent the previous three AC games and play them in order. The original Assassin's Creed is fun, but it gets VERY repetitive. It's worth playing but you will feel like you're "grinding" through many of the missions (most identical to one another). Assassin's Creed 2 is probably my favorite AC game. The team behind AC fixed all the issues people had with the first game and made a truly excellent game. Assassin's creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations both feel like addons for Assassin's Creed 2, great games, great improvements, but nothing exceptionally different (which is okay, because each game is still a blast).

They do show "Previously"at the beginning of every game you know? He should play the prequels only if he's curious, like me, i bought AC1 this year.

I adored this game. It was short like Brotherhood, but fun nevertheless.

*SPOILER*

I'm gonna miss Ezio though, he dies in Embers, and in the next AC, he won't be here

I mean c'mon. How will they ever meet the awesomeness of the name 'Ezio Auditore da Firenze'?

They most likely wont and the series will die.

Meh. This franchise is turning really cash-in. I don't like it. Assassin's Creed II was a prime example of what should happen in a series as unique and new as AC, listen to the community, up the killing, and make the better AC game in the end. After playing Bruddahood and Revewevalate-eons, I can say that spark I felt back in 2009 with Ezio the first time around is just... gone. And honestly? I miss it. I miss it a lot. Ubisoft's decision to make this a yearly series was one of the worst they could have made. This could have been another Elder Scrolls, but no, greed caught up to Ubisoft and now we have "Call of Duty-Medieval Edition".

The thing about Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, quite a large number of their adolescent fans have only played their "newer" entries. Ask a fan aged 17 or less about Assassin's Creed 1 or anything before Modern Warfare 1, and they'll look at you like you have two heads. The difference here is that while Call of Duty was an absolute legend back in the day, no one likes to talk about the original Assassin's Creed because of how deplorable, yet innovative, it was.

Meh. I smell a cash-in series... me no likey da yearly relesez....

a game is released every year because they arent full games. the full games are AC1 AC2 and AC3 (coming out 2012). also, the third game was always ment to come out 2012, and every game has two stand alone expansions:
AC1, AC Altairs chronicles, AC bloodlines
AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations
AC3, AC expansion, AC expansion

You raise a good point, but I still don't buy it. The two original AC "expansions" are handheld titles, and with that, don't supply enough weight to establish the release trend described.

Sneak up and kill

DEAD

That's also one of the thing's that's missing from the later entries in this franchise, the extended killing methods. The critical moments where it's you and your target, and he must die, used to mean something. The Hidden Blade was a weapon that made one feel close to their prey, it required work and cunning to be able to get that close to finally seal the deal with your quiet friend.

With the introduction of the Crossbow and Gun, just like in the modern world, the honor of a kill feels to have lost its touch due to the ease of more advanced technology. OR MAYBE THAT'S WHAT UBISOFT WANTS US TO THINK!!!
