I have a question to all believers, what's your reason for sticking to your religion? (meaning why do you do it faithfuly, if you just do it cause your parents do it then I don't think you really believe)
New question. What about religion do you find so annoying other than "it doesn't exist?"
The first thing that annoyed me even when I was a theist and little kid was how easy it was for people to justify bigotry with it. As I got to actually reading the various holy text I found such ideas really could be justified by the text and was not necessarily just a perversion of the religion.
The second thing that annoyed me was how it has and still does stood in the way of our advancement of knowledge. I know some might argue how many great figure in science were theists themselves, but it was often the case they went against the dogma of the time and ended up being labeled a heretic for the advancements they brought.
Finally and the most blanketing one, is the requirement of faith. Now I'm not talking about the trust sort of faith, I mean the belief without evidence sort of faith. So long as religion requires this I'm going to see it as bad thing to have.
