Yes. Lots of people do spam on the game comments but it is not our job to get rid of them and we cannot. It is the job for the mods. It is good though that you don't like spam. This means that you probably never will spam.

--Flag spammy comments. If more than one user flags the same comment, it gets sent (not to us) and is deleted.

--Report repeat offenders to a moderator.

--Report advertisers to a moderator.

Well, some users are spambots. You could add a caprtica or other anti spam tool

Aren't you supposed to report spadvertisers (adbots) to Justin? Or are you referring to advertisers in general?

Hard to actually tell them apart.

Which is why it would be hard for an anti-spam tool to function properly.

However, advertisers are advertisers; bots or not, they should be dealt with. If you see anyone advertising at all, you should report them. Don't sit there trying to figure out whether or not they're human. It doesn't matter. They're breaking the rules and they therefore must suffer the consequences.

I'm still wondering if it's better to send an email to Justin or to report to the mods since only the admins can perma ban.

Well I guess the matter itself is up to you--email Justin or report it to us, but it may be more productive to send it to us on the chance that there would be (many) duplicate reports of the same dude. We the moderators like to group them before sending. I believe Cen took up that sending job by choice alone, but point is, we can have those all in one and save Justin the trouble of going through which ones have and haven't been taken care of.
