I am neither clairvoyant or egotistical enough to state my point will always be true.

I have always been a cynical creature, but I was an idealist before. We can only wait and see what will come out of this.

lol, like I said, there is a chance of it happening, but as long as somebody isn't that ambitious, stuff like that will never happen.

(b) Applicability to United States Citizens and Lawful Resident Aliens-

(1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.

(2) LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to a lawful resident alien of the United States on the basis of conduct taking place within the United States, except to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the United States.

The above is from the link that emperorP posted.

I'm overly tired and may be more dense than usual, but doesn't it read that this does not apply to US citizens or Legal aliens unless the constitution allows for it?
I'm just asking.

The measure passed! The measure passed!

It still needs the House vote.

(b) Applicability to United States Citizens and Lawful Resident Aliens-...

Awlaki was a US citizen, but he was still killed. The reasoning is something like 'If we consider you a terrorist or enemy of the nation, your citizenship is irrelevant. You gave it up when you went against us.'
