Screamo is a primitave genre of hardcore punk. Riffs are fast and simple, there are generally no guitar solos, and the singer literally SCREAMS (not squeals, not death growl, not scream as a term used in metal to decribe high pitch vocal).
Styles of music such as post-hardcore, metalcore, deathcore, death metal and black metal are often mislabeled as "screamo" based on the assumption that any music with screamed vocals should be considered such.
I think what you meant post hardcore/metalcore, both of which can mix in electronic/techno music. To put it more simply, both these genres often feature screaming vocals, BUT they generally have another vocalist who does the parts people can generally make out.
So the metalcore/post hardcore bands I like are:
Asking Alexandria Pierce The Veil Sleeping With Sirens Escape The Fate Woe Is Me We Came As Romans Inhale Exhale Silverstein Abandon All Ships Memphis May Fire Falling In Reverse Chiodos Isles and Glaciers Blessthefall Miss May I Dance Gavin Dance Emarosa Alesana Motionless In White A Static Lullaby A Day To Remember I See Stars A Skylit Drive For All Those Sleeping
screamo isnt even the real name of the genre. and if it was, it would be more mathcore oriented than anything. the real name of the genre is metalcore.
but my favorites are
the word alive emmure sleeping with sirens underoath botch dillenger escape plan attila *ucked up the crimson armada asking alexandria spies like us iwrestledabearonce atreyu bullet for my valentine avenged sevenfold (pre nightmare) snot broadway PM today (more on the progressive side than metalcore side though) the number twelve looks like you a day to remember hawthrone heights every time i die hate breed stutterfly alexisonfire attack attack
best dubstep or techno is either rusko deadmau5 or bassnectar. best metalcore is definately Avenged Sevenfold during Waking the Fallen through Avenged Sevenfold.
