I am doing this experiment to see if books (for teens and kids) make me cry. Many people say that I am cold hearted, so I am going to prove to myself that I am not. If you know any really sad books that make you cry, please post! And NO Harry Potter and Twilight!

Well, I don't think that I have made a book that has made me cry but I have read some that have almost made me. The book that I remember the most is The Outsiders. I won't say what happens in the book but you can actually read it here.

A sad book I have read is a child called "it" by Dave pelzer. I felt so sorry for the boy I cried. ( the second book is also good "the lost boy" ).

I must admit I could never cry reading a book, but "It" is pretty heart-wrenching.

I read the outsiders. Not that sad. Deathly Hallows was sad, but not enough to make you cry.

I gotta say the Summer of Riley.

I don't cry at books. I can't make the necessary emotional connections with characters to do so.

Though the Outsiders was kinda sad. First one that comes to mind.

I think tears coming down your eyes is considered crying.

Lol the outsiders wasn't that sad! I read it. It was sad, and I'll admit that. But I read it when I was 10 and I didn't cry.

The boy in the striped pyjamas and Shades Children spring to my mind.

You were too young to form a connection to the characters. You weren't passionate about the book, probably.

The boy in the striped pyjamas and Shades Children spring to my mind.

I saw the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas"

The movie was still really sad.

The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak its about the second world war the book is narrated by death (you kinda see where this is going) but anyway the ending actually makes me well up (and i dont normally cry at books).

Another book that almost made me cry, it wasn't really supposed to be sad or anything, but The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan, when Selina died I was like oh no omgsh! Why!! I didn't cry, but it was pretty close.

I got to go to an advanced screening of it and meet the director - That's when I got the book, too.
