I've heard in the news recently that Israel wanted to attack Iran and that if it happened, the U.S would help them. I know that the U.S wants to stop Iran's nuclear program, but will an attack spur WW3?
WW3? Hardly. Nobody likes Iran, and everyone would help us invade them just to get them to stop being little *****es. Even Russia might chip in a bit, maybe.
If Israel and the US made a joint-operation against Iran's nuclear facilities, the country would be in ruins within a week. The Chinese wouldn't help Iran at the risk of US sanctions against their economy, and Russia has too many problems of their own right now.
Just to point out, if the US sanctions China, they're as good as shooting themselves in the foot. Repeatedly. With a minigun. Not to mention the business lobbies in Washington will go bananas.
Would the US really go to war with Iran over the possibility of having WMDs? After Iraq, do you think they'll rush into yet another adventure head first, unless they have concrete evidence? Not to mention the slightly overlooked fact that today, Iran let in UN nuclear inspectors, and I would think the USA would pay attention to their report this time, unlike before Iraq. Not to mention Obama's more wise and cautious foreign policy approach.
