### Sister thread to "First CD you ever purchased?" ###

---

I recently made the thread with the topic of "what was the first CD you puchased" and asked to share your memories on that, but as I was buying some CD's today, I realised that there's of course the sister thread to this topic! So...

"What was the last CD you purchased lately?"

This topic will probably only appeal to the people who still buy those Compact Discs instead of downloading songs and albums, so...

...let us know what CD you bought and why, maybe tell a little about the band / artist and share your feelings about your latest addition to your CD collection! =D

---

Just like the OP of the sister thread, I'll start off with throwing in my latest additions!
So, today I bought a total of 5 CD's. Here they are in random order:

# Big Country - Best of...
__A band I got to know from their only hit single here in the Netherlands "Look Away". Great album!

____

# Megadeth - Rust In Peace - LIVE (incl. DVD)
__I got lucky and found this CD+DVD in the sales department! It's the live tour I attended to in Eindhoven! And Hangar 18 was one of the highlights!!

____

# Jackson Browne - Very Best...
__An artist I forgot about, but ilberic was so kind to remind me of this great singer/songwriter! For example: a huge hit he wrote is "Take It Easy", one you might know from the Eagles!

____

# Blink 182 - Greatest Hits
__I realised that I didn't have any other CD but 'Enema Of The State' by this band and decided that a Greatest Hits album is never a waste! Can't handle my money I guess... so "What's my age again?!" LOL

____

# Savatage - "Still the orchestra plays" Greatest Hits vol. 1 + 2
__A band from which a greatest hits album I've been looking for a long time already and today... JACKPOT!!!
Wanna get familiar with some great Rock/Metal from the 80's? Then try this: Power Of The Night!!!

Actually I haven't bought a CD in years because I buy digitally.
So I don't buy whole albums, just the songs I like.

Ouch... does this mean I'm the "last of the mohicans" when it comes to buying music on CD?! (o.O)

That hurts and makes me scared a bit... =/

Don't fret. I'm apparently outdated as well and buy music on CDs.

I bought a new CD just last week, in fact. Well, it's not new in terms of when it was released but it's new in my collection.

Together by The New Pornographers

I bought it because I already own two of their previous albums (Twin Cinema and Challengers) and I like their music. Plus, I like having my music on CDs. I don't know if it's something I imagined or if it's actually true, but music sounds better off CDs than the music bought online to me.

Next one I'm gonna buy is probably going to be The King is Dead by The Decemberists.

I still buy CDs! Last one I bought was last week actually.

Anyway, the band was Feist and the album was Metals. Good stuff.

P.S.
Nice choice with Jackson Browne, MrDayCee.

*looks up to the sky*

Thank you! =)

I'm really relieved to see there are even more people that still buy CD's!! Once more... YAY! =D

And there I was thinking this thread would onlt get posts saying 'I only buy iTune music', or 'CD's are overrated', etc. etc. =P

I listened to some songs by 'Antestor', but it's a little on the heavy side for me... I can't appreciate those high pitched screaming vocals alas... =/

I just bought a CD, or rather 3, a week ago now. It was the genesis platinum collection. And I discovered that I love Genesis due to that.

I need to get more vinyl though...sounds better.

The Last CD I bought would probably be of some Korean Pop girl-group that most of you have never heard of before. SNSD, or Girls' Generation. Bought them in China, cheap as they come.

@ waluigi : Vinyl does sound more 'realistic' yes, agreed waluigi! That's why I never throw away any of the good old records I can get my hands on! People do seem to have no feelings anymore with these 'round black gems'...

cheap as they come

@ nichodemus : what do you mean? The CD or the Girl Band? LOL

I'm not a fan of either K-Pop or J-Pop, but I have to say that looking at the album cover, one mighht easily be persuaded into buying one of these CD's yes!
*grins* *nudge nudge* *wink wink* =P

Both? The CD and the band.

Hey, I love the music just as much as I fancy those girls! But the music comes first!

I don't usually buy CD's anymore. But, a couple of weeks ago I bought Endgame by Rise Against. Its pretty good.

@ Nicho for some reason that album reminds me of a Jeans catalogue.

Yes, it does unfortunately doesn't it? Their other albums are the same, reminiscent of boutiques, just with different clothes.

@ goumas13 : Nice album! I'm really hoping to catch them on a festival this year! *fingers crossed* They seem to be excellent live on stage I heard! =)

I added another gem to my collection today... =)

I proudly present :

Vixen - Full Throttle (Best of...)

This is some true FemRock from back in the 80's! These women made my heart pound back then... (o.O)

And I was nearly "Cryin'" when I purchased it today! =)
