Visit Freakenstein, he'll help. Just go to his messenger, and he'll reply relatively soon. I honestly believe he's one of the fastest to respond, but just pay him a visit, and ask him for help.

One of the following has occurred. Or a few of them.

1)You have been spamming. Game/Profile Comments or Forum posts with less than seven words tend to do a Houdini when mods are around.

2)Your posts were offensive. Which causes them to do a Houdini too.

3)Someone has cleared out their profile comments.

4)Not a virus.

And the reason why your bear Armatar vanished was because your AP dropped to the point where that Armatar was locked again, hence you reverted to the starry shield Armatar. Once you crossed the AP line, it came back.

If you have posted content that people don't like (such as foul language or offensive content) then you could be flagged and the points that you got for those would then be taken away.

Also, off topic posts in forums can be deleted, deleting your Armour Points that you got with it.

Also, if you just go around rating loads of games really quick and putting just random things in the comments box, an administrator or moderator might think that you are just doing it for Armour points. They will then delete these said articles and may do it in bulk form (such as your sudden decrease in points).

I don't want to restart building points

this suggests in a way that you are trying to get lost of points as quickly as possible. The best way to avoid this might be to act like they do not exist.

As for the bear issue:

You will have needed a certain amount of points to unlock the bear. 874 may have been below that point needed to unlock the bear. Hence, the bear would disapear. Then when you got the 875th Armour point back, the bear came back. This may be because 875 was the amount needed to get the bear, and the system had remembered which arvatar you have and just put it back on (now you have the right amount of points)

Hope that helps!

I agree in the answer given by Nichodemus, he states what could have been happening to your amount of AP, but he forgot to mention another reason why your AP count might have dropped. It's similar to his 3rd part of the post... if one of your friends has been perma-banned, all the comments you wrote on his/her profile will be deleted and you will loose the points you gained for them. =/

Wow, they really do make new rules and procedures fast, those admins!

Won't your comments get wiped anyway if the whole profile is whisked off into the Underworld of the Internet?

Going from 909 to 874 AP doesn't seem like much of a deduction to consider a deletion spree some of us do while also going through game comments (deleting user comments that are effortlessly short). If there was a drastic change, I would say one of us blasted through your user/game comments because you decided to use ArmorGames like AOL Instant Messenger, but since so few AP were lost, there could be a multitude of small, spare-change reasons. A buddy or acquaintance of yours could have deleted a couple comments, a moderator or two found some forum posts that weren't by the forum rules, we could have went through some pages of game comments that just happened to have some of yours in it, yadda yadda.

How you can prevent some of these from being deleted is to post constructive game comments (one to two sentences should suffice; the whole community says "7 words", but....ehhh.), have forum posts that are on topic, constructive, and aren't offensive, and have user comments that aren't conversational, meaning short, effortless, meaningless posts that would have a better purpose in a chat room.

Users deleting your comments are totally up to them, we have no control over that. If they decide to delete your wall-of-text-of-awesomeness, that's their call.

Can a merit get deducted?

Merits operate like regular comments, so they can also be deleted for a total of 26 AP at once. However, they are only deleted if the comment is merited by mistake, such as meriting the wrong comment, meriting a comment but finding out later it was plagiarized by an older comment (in which case we either warn or ban the offending user), or making the silly, lazy mistake of meriting a comment of a user who claimed they won an official contest. We check though.

26 AP at once.

Actually, it's 27. Comments are worth 2 AP, not 1.

Originally, I read the first number as 999, but then I realized it was 909. Also, the difference is 25 AP, which means forum posts were involved.

what i think he means by Houdini is the comments got flagged.

Based on what you quoted, I think "Houdini" means deleted, not flagged.

Summary: To keep AP, don't spam.
