I think that you should get a message telling you when a comment of yours have been removed, and include what it said, so that you can learn from your mistakes and then know what not to write again. What does everyone else think about this?

Yes, I would definitely like to see a merit notification built in. I have had many many people write on my wall asking what they got a merit for, and I don't remember them all!

True, I know it can not be helped. I realy did not mean to sound as bitter when typing that as it did but it bothers me when the higher ranks are being worshiped by the low ranks and they have over four times as many comments as games rated or forem posts.

But like you said it realy can not be helped. I just had to get that out of my system.

Also I found out its much easier to have conversations by getting AIM = )If you must ahve a conversation using the comments, which I would fully understand, it would be nice to have some of those comments deleted after they were replied too.

Very true, and I agree!

It is easier to just talk on AIM, but then you don't get the points. That's the whole reason behind most of the 'chats'.

Well, they are contemplating not giving out points for profile comments, specifically because people are doing that. Which isn't great for people who have been commenting constructively by posting helpful comments and such, but it will also cut down on people getting points from saying 'Hi, r u on right now?', 'What's up?', 'dfhsdfjhas', etc...

Ahh, dfhsdfjhas, my favorite. Anyway, if they were to eliminate that, 3/5 of the top ten would be replaced.

I forgot to say that a chat would be a good addition, but that would be a while off, I know.

Let us just say that when you have 4 merits and less than 100 comments, It is anoying when you see the person in first has over 800 and no merits (does not necisarily mean they do not post good suggestions, but it makes you wonder). Though Homegrove does do his part for the site I will admit.

I know what you mean NoName, I hate it when I see people posting "WOW great job on getting first!" when the person was spamming for it (not saying that any of the top 10 are or arent spamming).

Thar would discourage a few hundred comments which would help. Though you know that wewould still have the group that says "This is a very very fun game. I like it."

Though a few 100 less comments I would imagine would help emmencly.

Haha yea, I know what you mean. It would be a great idea to have a chat room or something too. That way people can talk and see who else is on.

One thing that I think would help immensely, was if they just made it so that game comments under 5 words or something did not receive points. That would be at least half of them!

Homegrove has a reason to be where he is, but most of the others just haven't really done anything to rank themselves above the others.
By commenting games you can give great advice to the developers. By rating games you help players to easily find the best games. By posting on the forum you can give important opinions. But by commenting on others profiles... What reason is there to reward points for posting on profiles?

To Carlie's last post (cause I was posting):
I have said to not allow comments under 5 words so many times! However, John, I think it was him, said that's what the flag is for. But it takes time and effort to find, flag, and delete where there could just be a simple if statement that allows it to be posted or not.
