Before the Titantic sailed, people said it was unsinkable. The iceberg said otherwise. People said an event like it would never happen again. With all the new technology, it is impossible for a newer ship to sink, right? Wrong. It just happened again. I don't care how sophisticated tech can get, human nature will always be the same. Arrogant, daredevil, and stupid. You can yell at me as much as you want for what I've said, but this is my belief and your contradiction won't make me change it. Post your thoughts here, but keep to the forum rules, please.
Without thinking of the consequences that would happen.
uhm yea. i already said he was a fool. i thought we are comparing here not just pointing out what he did wrong.
That goes to show that he shouldn't have been a captain. He didn't look at the dangers and look at what happened.
same for this.
did you also read the comparing part i wrote whit the titanic? you know, what this topic is about acording to the title.
and btw. your still 2 short i was able to me another positive compare already myself. wich could bring you down to only 1 short. but you didn't mention it yet.
that really doesn't matter whatsoever. the captain had a good enough radar to not need the sun to light his way. all you are doing is trying to preserve this tenuous argument of yours by stating irrelevant bull crap, and hoping that would change the inevitable.
I sailed on her sister ship, the Serena, completely identical from the outside. I guess I have an advantage, having lived on a U.S. Navy ship for nearly 3 years. I like my odds.
This thread is just meant to discuss the sinking of the Costa Concordia; I was merely stating that I saw some similarities between it and Titantic.
Um, well ok. But there are always risks that things like that happen, especially when the captain provoked it so much that the risk was immense. Should such things happen? No. Can you completely prevent it? No.
