What I mean by gospel is singing church songs in school. I do not think it is right for a music teacher in a school to force kids to sing a gospel song. I think it is uncostitutional. My music teacher is doing this to us this year, and for the last two years on students. I do not think it is right. Church and school are two very different things. The gospel should stay in church and the gospel out of schools.

Fifth question no she does not mention other religions. My teacher criticizes other religions.

As much as you hate gospel music I love them. Not because they are christian songs(cause some christian songs I don't like because I don't feel anything from those songs) but because they show expresion and feeling in them.

I think what he went was were the gospel songs from a certain time period. Not how long have you been covering them.

I don't agree with indoctrination of any kind and i probably would have been really annoyed if my music teacher made me sing gospel music during my time at school (and i went to a Catholic school), but for arguments sake, could it not be because Gospel music is simple to sing? I mean the notes are usually pretty basic, the words repetitive and easy to pick up?

I don't think you should have to sing at all, unless you agreed to do so in order to take the class lol. But I certainly don't think you should have to sing any song you find offensive or don't agree with.

As for using gospel songs in a public school, I don't think that's really a problem, assuming the purpose is not simply for the teacher to try to convert you. So essentially I agree with most of the others. You should complain if it's like that. Classes shouldn't promote any viewpoint or religion as absolute truth, and if that's what your teacher is doing, and you really care that much about it, you should notify the government to come and arrest her, errr I meanâ¦...

Yeah that won't help anything. My state of South Dakota thinks that they should be teaching more religion at schools. Me and a bunch of my friends have already went to the principle. It just sucks.
