BAGHDAD (Reuters) - At least 14 youths have been stoned to death in Baghdad in the past three weeks in what appears to be a campaign by Shi'ite militants against youths wearing Western-style "emo" clothes and haircuts, security and hospital sources say.
Most people don't like EMOs and other people like them and think they are in witchcraft etc but I think its a bit harsh and stupid. I mean I don't like people wearing pants waay below waist line but I won't kill them for that. What are your opinions?
Well, Iraq is a country that still hates gay people, and from what I've heard this is more to do with the perceived association between being an Emo and being gay.
the more emo people in the world means the more suicides and self mutilation in the world you cannot tell me the world is better off with them
And the more prejudiced jerks in the world, the more murders and hate crimes are committed. You cannot tell me the world is better off without them. At least emos aren't selfish enough to take out their anger on people who did nothing to deserve it.

I thought so too at first, but it's obviously wrong. Not all emos cut themselves and dress black; many of them dress just weirdly, they like to meet in groups in public places and cuddle all the time and stuff like that; emotive stuff, thus EMO. It's a whole sub-culture and saying all cut themselves is wrong and ignores the much more varying array of expressions.
Not that I take them seriously or something, and I used to have a quite derogatory opinion of them, but we still have to keep to the facts instead of oversimplifying a whole trend..
yes there folowing a trend they dress like them but still dont cut themselves so theirfore they arent emo theyre just wanabees there gothic
They cut themselves bcoz they are addicted to adrenaline A friend of mine used to do that and he is not emo he clearly used to say that he ain't doing it cuz he hates himself or something but just because he loves the rush(the same reason I spent 2 years fighting pointlessly).
