Wow, that's why I said hugging and slapping a behind are nothing alike.
The topic you brought up was sports. Slapping someone on the butt in a sport isn't a sexual signal, so why would you shun someone who is gay? They're not going to take every little thing as a sexual signal - just like how I'm not going to take a friendly hug from a girl as a sexual signal.
Why would I hate someone because they're different from me?
You said you dislike homosexuals. They're different from you.
I personally wouldn't want my son, when I have one, seeing a gay couple and him thinking it's okay to be gay.
What makes it not okay?
Guy's were made for girl's and girl's for guy's. Again this is my opinion, you don't have to argue with me and nor do I care if you do or don't.
Your opinion seems rather baseless.
Bro, I go to a private white school and I come from a mexican backgroud. What does this mean? Everyone in my school is completly different from me and I don't hate them. Why would I hate someone because they're different from me? Everyone's different from everyone that's why we're all unique.
Why is this line of thinking not being applied to homosexuals as well?
Most of the arguments against it are baseless. For people that find homosexuality wrong, it boils down to an irrational mindset. They think it's gross, unnatural, disgusting, or scary. They can't explain their concerns with logic because there was almost no logic in the development of those opinions to begin with.
They are alike, in that they can both be used as a sexual signal, or one of friendliness. You surely don't interpret every hug as an invitation to bed do you? Likewise, why would you think gays would think every butt slap is a call to get it on big time?
I think it isn't the right path to trod. It's immoral
Sigh.
I am quickly becoming a firm believer that every person who thinks homosexuality is wrong has simply never applied an iota of thought to the matter. They never give any reasons, anyway.
r3as0ns pl0x. Otherwise your statement isn't worth the few bytes of data it takes up.

There's never a right or wrong in morality; they believe in the word of God just because. Divine will for them is not to be questioned, there is no reasoning with them and no budging in their opinions other than the minute chance that one of their close relations or friends suddenly comes out of the closet and forces them to rethink prejudices.
If you grow up listening to just one side of the story, and be told that the other side leads to eternal punishment or God's displeasure, you would follow the former naturally, until it becomes just another automatic response, so much so that it becomes an ''axiom'' for them.
So, there's really no point in discussing it with them is it?
But there's usually some sort of justification. That reason behind why it's considered right or wrong can be looked at and determined whether to be logical/rational.

Believing in something just because = bad reason. You could believe that everything is actually a purple unicorn in disguise just because, that doesn't make it so.
Divine will for them is not to be questioned
Which is basically what I said with this, "every person who thinks homosexuality is wrong has simply never applied an iota of thought to the matter."

Unless you learn to think for yourself. I grew up being told the exact same things.
So, there's really no point in discussing it with them is it?
For the most part they aren't likely to change. What we can do however is scare them off from arguing against it, therefore effecting the same end result.
If you constantly get shot down on every front each time you bring up a subject, you're not likely to keep bringing it up.

You can never argue with them, because remember, God is on their side, patting their heads. God. Someone who for them cannot be questioned or argued, because He apparently laid the rules down long ago.
Unless you learn to think for yourself. I grew up being told the exact same things.
So have I. So? Many of my friends from religious backgrounds have thought it through themselves, mulled over what their pastors have said; but they don't move on, because their entire paradigm is defined as such, so much so that they can't think out of the strict dogma.

Not really. Two thousand years of blunt and honest criticism, and the Catholic Church is still the biggest and most powerful religious organization on this planet.
they believe in the word of God just because. Divine will for them is not to be questioned
Yet when they bring it up that the bible compels them to condemn homosexuals based on such and such scripture, they choose to ignore the other parts of it and declare them 'from another time' or 'obsolete in current day'. Look at Leviticus. People always quote the lines from there, but then when you bring up all the other laws in it as well, you're completely ignored or written off as not understanding the progression Christianity has taken. It's completely hypocritical.
What possible reason could you have for saying it is wrong?
Religion, and we were made to mate the opposite sex to keep our race going.
What is wrong about it, if it is not unnatural?
Religion.
What about homosexuality is wrong so that we must avoid it?
Religion.
The Bonobo are famous for all sorts of sex things, they live in a Maternal society where women rule and sex is used for about everything, from greeting to wars.
DUDE WE ARE NOT FREAKIN BONOBO'S! WE ARE HUMANS!
why should our conscience tell us it's wrong?
Religion, God gave us a conscience and it should feel wrong.
