Knowing what I do about Minecraft, I would still buy it even if it were $50 or $60. It's much better than most games nowadays, which are all around that price new.
I only payed $10 for it though because I bought it in the Alpha. So yay me. I've played it way more than some other games which I've payed 2-3-4 times the price as well.
It is omly putting blocks in places to make things and killing unrealistic things!!!!
You can make whatever you want...It's like Legos...except that I never run out of blocks, I have as many as I want, I can find what I want fast, and I can go inside of what I make.
Killing unrealistic things? That goes under every fictional game out there. If killing unrealistic things was a "bad" thing for a game, there'd be a lot more "bad" games out there.
I personally wouldn't pay that much for pixelated legos, but whatever floats your boat.
Fair enough. But there's, in addition to the building aspect, plugins and multiplayer servers where you can do events or rps or rpgs or pvp . I love legos, and having a game where I can pretty much do the same thing with legos (except in varying textures and sizes) is pretty awesome.
think he means less because he called it a bad PC game in a different thread.

Exactly what im saying. I got my legos at home and if i wanted to play a game with bad graphics then I would play a game that was actually good like Duke Nukem 3D or Quake.
So? Imagination, you can build a Castle, An Underwater City, Even a Sky City! You can Mine for Diamond or Steel and build Shelter to survive in Survival, Conquer NPC villages. You can build a Bustling City, and blow it to Smithereens! Basically it's what you build/destroy, they built the Empire State Building by just Placing Steel Beams and Putting up walls. Think about it, Can you build a colossal Skyscraper in REAL life, it's not very likely, Minecraft gives you the freedom to build literally Anything. Plus it has other features, you could create an elevator with redstone, or create a city power grid. Anythings possible.
Same thing goes with legos buddy I have built cities had wars with unrealistic creatures (orc things) built castles and I wasn't sitting in front of a screen to do it ha. Only problem is legos are more expensive but if you never get a computer in the first place then the money isn't that big of a problem. And for crafting I have Dungeons of Dredmor and Team Fortress 2 and even though I bought TF2 it is now free and Dungeons of Dredmor has its own bad graphics so it can be just like minecraft yay
A calculator that calculates what?? And I can build robots with legos.
Its funny because I don't actually use legos anymore I am just thinking back to my old childhood days. But I still get a lego product magazine in the mail so I can be up to date on the now

But can you even consider affording to build a 1:1 scale of the starship enterprise with legos? Also you really can't get mods for legos, and the one problem I always ran into when playing with action figures and stuff, you could only move 2 at once, on the computer you could move an unlimited amount of characters at the same time.
Minecraft is unique.I think that's why it's such a hit.Not like the other games like modern warfare.Every modern warfare game is the same to me.The only thing they did to make it different was that they added online multiplayer, but there are so much jerks playing multiplayer that they make it not fun.Minecraft gives you the freedom to build anything you want at anytime.Heck,if you like those multiplayer shooter games, make your own map the way you do,and play it with your friends.Believe me,shooters would be more fun with swords and bows
minecraft is really boring. the only real fun i can find in it is going online and nuking my friends stuff and killing monsters, but even thats dull. i personally think that its pointless. i typically dont enjoy games that are too open. i like to know what i have to do, where i have to go and what i need to get. i dont like running around aimlessly. i find games that are too open like this to be extremely boring. and what makes it worse in my opinion is all the mods. woopdy doo, you can do whatever you want, i still dont care. it takes away the little fun the game actually has. and another thing i dont like about it is the building part. good job, you spent 5 days making a giant castle, now what are you going to do with it? i suppose that aspect could be turned on any game though, "i just unlocked x on y" but i still find it too dull on minecraft. the app version that i cant remeber the name of is better, as it is on your phone, it costs less, you can take it literally anywhere and its basicly a tiny minecraft. i still not that good but its better than minecraft. grenplanet, you have just released my inner CoD fanboy shooter more fun with swords and bows? HAHA you make me laugh, it would not be called shooter then, would it? no it would be called "if skyrim had an online". i dont like minecraft at all. i dont care about finding dimonds, making big castle, farming pigs, blowing up crap, killing zombies or evil creepers. do i care if you agree with me? not at all, you like your games, i like mine.
@pickpocket I guess it wouldn't be called a shooter, maybe a game where you kill each other. What are those called?
Anyways,I guess your right,I like my kind of games, and you like yours.I was just describing how good I think minecraft is.You can build anything you want that you couldn't in real life. The game is for people who want to be creative.

The game makes you feel accompished, you could share your creations on youtube and get money, modders make money offa their mods.
Also the open world is nice because it leaves you to do what you WANT to do, not what the game wants you to do, if you just have a little creativity minecrat is awsome
