On the last post, it shows the date instead of the time. What do you guys think of this?

Personally, I find it annoying that I can't see what exact time people posted it on. Don't you? :|

I think this is probably a part of the AGv3 system being brought on-line. And I agree, the old time/date system was better. I don't know why they feel the need to screw around with things here that work just fine anyway.

Augghhh! ^^That flag is right there! It's just begging to be clicked, whether it be on accident or out of sheer temptation!

i dont mind the flag but the date change really bothers me. i always had a personal problem of dates and i dont even know the order of the months (yeah... :/)

this is really confusing for me. i thought that maybe they put an option in the control panel that lets you choose between the date and the ____ ago but they didnt....

it would be much better if they would go back to the old date system or at least make the threads that are more then TWO (not one) days old as dates.

ill have plenty of trouble if the date system will stay this way....

What is this crap... And not even in the "they changed stuff, horrible!!" sense which is the usual reason to complain about stuff, but rather the "Why do they have a post date at all if there is no time on when something was posted, and why is the flag in the post itself like some psycho pre-post signature?!" sense...
It's bloody annoying, they might as well remove the posting stamp entirely from the front page, if they are not going to help us on when it was posted in relation to us (which either calls for fussy times, the previous way or time stamps with the local time for the user), and that flag is just in the way.

I don't know why they feel the need to screw around with things here that work just fine anyway.

Because screw us.

@Patrick:
We have eyes in our head. Though who don't will have other ways of reading the site. You don't have to state the obvious and post updates about something that doesn't matter.
Please stop it.

My problem is I just don't understand the flag change! How is having a flag directly and intrusively above each post different to having a flag to the right, out of irritation's way yet still easily accessible? Are they just telling us they want us to report more, but in a really obnoxious way?

It seems like that, or, based on how the forums are currently behaving, that they screwed something up and just decided to go home and fix it tomorrow.
Like, it was supposed to still be placed in the opposite corner, but with the report-thing next to it, but somehow it ended up where it is now, and whoever was working on it just shrugged and closed down his computer.

Or, alternately, they really want to be popular like facebook, so they have started up picking up the behaviour of facebook, which means changing the things everyone likes about it, while leaving all the issues to be complained about.

It surely doesn't help anything that they have seemingly no communication skills, which means this might be perfectly justified, but no one bothers to tell us.
Programmers...

I don't like either the new last post vs the time posting on the community page or the new flag position. I came very close to accidentally hitting it just to page flip, arrgh.

Once you're on the commenting page of the thread you're posting to the time is shown there, same as before. So, now we are going to have to have two pages open just to post any comments so we can see who posted last so we don't duplicate a comment that's submitted at the same time or seconds before ours? That's a lot of reading especially with a heated discussion such as this one. >_<

@ Jess and Cenere

I don't know if these changes were intentionally aimed at pi$$ing us off or just to test our eye-hand coordination? I don't face book so I can't comment on that possible comparison...

I am of the general opinion that either the staff is well-meaning up incompetent, or it is deliberately trying to [bleep] us over for the lulz/evulz/randumz.
I am not sure which of those realities I want to be true more, however. They seem equally horrifying.
Anyway, I don't facebook either, but facebook has become notorious of making changes to the site that no one has asked for or wanted while ignoring every and all suggestions made by the users, however good those might be, thus making sure every change is followed by most of the user base being angry at them, but too addicted to leave.

Point is, whatever might be going on, the staff is really, really bad at communicating, will not explain or give a reason for their changes, and is leaving the moderators to deal with the rage of the users. And because they are mods, and thus at least indirectly forced to be on the staff's side in public, all they can do is go "Sorry for your inconvenience, I am sure there is something good coming, and that there is some kind of meaning with the madness. Just cool down, wait it out and see if AGv3 doesn't make up for it all." /lock as answered, link to reply in all other threads, hope the users stop making more threads about it because it's annoying.

So... I really wish the staff would man up and use the media they themselves have given us to give our opinion at large. That is, these forums.

I don't mind the flag - i reckon it's probably there to draw emphasis to report a comment instead of every single time someone doesn't like something going on to the mod/admin pages to report it.

^ Only admins see flagged posts last time I checked. Honestly don't care about the flag, but give back the time the last user posted, instead of the date.

I think they're using the date system to properly tell WHEN someone posted, and not how long ago they did. Maybe a, Name posted in Thread on Date Numberteh, Year at Time.

Like they already do in the posts themselves, and isn't helping all the timely impaired like myself, that doesn't bother to subtract the timezone delay with my own time every time I need to see if someone posted something at some close time.
It's a good gesture, but it is utterly useless for a site that wants to be international, as they have been saying several times everywhere.
(especially if it leads to glitches with the forum they apparently don't feel like cleaning up??)
