in this months copy of game informer there is a long article about the elder scrolls online, i didn't have the attention span or enough interest really to read the whole thing(or even just a page) but i think that they're going to make it into a game
Yes, Bethesda Softworks and Zenimax Online Studios are developing an Elder Scrolls themed MMO since 2007, for release in 2013. Didn't ya see the anouncement trailer? Apparently it's gonna be set in Tamriel in it's entirety, far before the events of the games of the TES series, and will involve Molag Bal and three coalitions.
I honestly weep at this decision since it's a total break with Bethesdas previous line, and also judging from the pictures I've seen so far it looks like your average MMO like you find multitudes on the internet, simply themed around the Elder Scrolls lore.
... oh well, I might have a look at how Vvardenfell, Morrowind, looks like in the game, maybe I'll try it out but it really depends on the payment system.
And here is a site I found that shows more than the one image and even concept drawings: elbakin.net What I can see from these images is that there are gonna be Atronachs, Dreughs, and even something that to me looks like a Khagouti from Vvardenfell. Oh, and interestingly the Orc armor looks almost exactly like the Orc armor from Skyrim.
if it is free to play whit a item mall system then i'll check it out. maybe if the player comments are goos i'll try it later aswell. but i don't have time for a mmo and i have no high expectations of the serie going mmo style. so i wont play it if it's to expensive.
Here, from the gameinformer article I linked before:
The Elder Scrolls Online is scheduled to come out in 2013 for both PC and Macintosh.
Hmm, it plays long before the events of Skyrim or even Morrowind. That means Jiub wasn't even born then. ... who is also eager to go on Cliff Racer extermination raids? Probably the only real motivation to try it out^^
it's not that i really don't like to read articles it's just that that one was like 7 pages long and in small print so i didn't want to read that one all that much
CRUD!!! it's only for pc and mac NOOOOOO no no NO! that's what you meant by you really don't like to read articles. this is so sad. i really hope they decide to make it for the 360 but i fear it's too late for that, now i will go sulk in self pitty

You could have saw this coming since a lot of mmo's don't appear on console.
But I really hope that what I read was true and that Zenimax, not Bethesda, will create it so that Bethesda can focus on other games, maybe Fallout 4 or even TES VI if they will come.

If I was ever interested in such a degrading game, I would be right there by your side, those things annoyed the crap out of me. However, I am no fan of MMOs. There is no feeling that you are unique in the game at all.
