So the other day I was scrolling through TV shows Netflix, and I came across Bob's Burgers. I had seen it advertised on Fox numerous times, so I decided I'd give it a shot. I figured it couldn't be that bad.

Well, I figured wrong. The entire time I was watching (I watched a couple episodes just to give it a fair diagnosis) I wondered how this horrendously awful show ever got aired in the first place.

What was even more surprising to me was that they released a second season. Are there really people watching this show? I don't understand what the appeal is. Is it supposed to be funny? Because if it is, I can honestly say I have never seen a show that has failed harder in the humor department.

___

There's my miniature rant for the day, so aside from that, I'm leaving you with this question here:

What do you think is the worst show on TV?

Pretty much the majority of "science" and "history" shows that air on the Discovery and History channel.

I agree with you on this. They always talk about the same crap in a different way with a different title.
If I want to watch a documentary I'd rather watch Nova on PBS instead.

EastEnders, they are a load of rubbish, the characters are NOT good, there are too much voilence and swearing throughout the whole programme and definatly NOT safe for young viewers. I WISH EASTENDERS DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Ernie15 for not putting a limit to how far back we can go...

The all time worst TV show has to go to Gilligan's Island !

All you really saw was Denver running around the same fake set over and over while stoned half out of his mind. I'm talking smashed, fried, etc.

The show was literally based on the lyrics of it's opening tune that I'll not bore you with. Besides it should be on this url I provided providing it loaded correctly that is...

This show was about as exciting to watch as watching paint dry. So, why did I suffer through it? It was the ONLY thing of in it's time slot. This is the neolithic period of TV when the show's earliest episodes were black and white...

end of rant

Oops

the url is a dud folks, sorry. You can google it and I was trying to share the imb site. Since I don't think sharing url links are allowed anymore I'll not do this again. I'll just say where my resources come from...

The link is not a dud, it just contained an extra "http://".

I agree that Gilligan's Island was not a very well-thought out show. If they can build a radio from a coconut, why can't they just build a boat and row off the island?

However, for me Bob's Burgers is still the worst. Gilligan's Island is a low-quality show, but it's also nearly 50 years old and from an entirely different era of television. Even Get Smart, one of my favorite 60's TV shows, would not be considered a great-quality show in this day and age, but they made 138 episodes as well as a couple made-for-TV movies.

Bob's Burgers, on the other hand, is from the current era of television. An era, might I add, which has included in the past 15 years, shows like King of the Hill, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, and many other great animated series that ran for several seasons without being painfully unfunny. Granted, there have also plenty of not-so-great animated shows from this era that didn't last more than a season or two, but I can't name one of those shows that is as awful as Bob's Burgers. Not even Allen Gregory.

It makes me wonder how, with all the ideas for TV shows that get shot down, Bob's Burgers somehow managed not only to get a spot on TV, but is now also still running and in its second season.

You can't say bob's burgers is the worst, because they have good characters. There are shows out there with nothing. None that I can really think of that lasted more than a season (excluding reality TV), but they're out there.

Does a show have to be realistic to be good?

The worst for me are Storage Wars and American Pickers. If I wanted to watch a show about a bunch of idiots buying and selling useless junk, well... I'd probably question my own sanity.

GTFO Ernie.

I don;t know about worst, but shows like Ice Road truckers and Deadliest Catch just can't spark my amusement. It seems like the same thing over and over.

I can't name one in the entire series.

No, but if it's filled with inconsistencies and plot holes, it makes it very difficult to take seriously.

I found it. 19 Kids and Counting

Half because of how they made a show out of these people in the first place, and half of the actual people themselves. Just to give you and idea, Mrs. Duggar thinks over population is a lie.

Jon & Kate + Eight was a stupid show. 8 practically identical toddlers running around should be entertaining, yet in this show it isn't.

It's just a bunch of theorists basically saying that aliens helped humans shape our history and stuff.

And what's stupid about that? They do extensive research to help back up their theories. It isn't like they're just a bunch of wackjobs preaching one-sided claims to a naive audience willing to believe anything; that's what Televangelists are for. Ancient Astronaut theorists are more interested in trying to explain the mysteries of our world than anything.
