I'm curious why people play MMORPGs and what you think about them. Which ones do you play and why? What are your favorite aspects of the game? What do you feel are some good and/or bad things about MMORPGs? Do you find that you spend too much time playing them? Also, what's your age?

Which ones do you play and why?

Im currently playing:

2moons
Dofus
FlyFF

I mainly play them because i like the strategy and role playing style involved in the game.

What are your favorite aspects of the game?

The unique fighting styles and how they give you the chance to interact with others in a unique way as a character and not as who you may really be. This way people cannot really judge one another.

What do you feel are some good and/or bad things about MMORPGs?

GOOD:
*Can play for hours on end
*Easy to make friends and join clans/guilds
*Epic gameplay with awesome quests

BAD:
*Takes for ever to level up
*Easy for some to hack/cheat
*Many taunt the n00bs

Do you find that you spend too much time playing them?

MMORPG's are my life!

Also, what's your age?

Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Games. Examples are RuneScape and World of Warcraft.

I play lots I suppose..

Well basically it's just fun to play with a large amount of people, like what some people say "the more the merrier" or something.

GOOD:
-Lots of people, I guess that's good
-It's just like playing your favorite RPG game, except with thousands of other players.

BAD:
-People sometimes disrespect you, hey you can't just avoid them.
-Is Addicting (is this a bad thing?)

I don't really find that I spend to much time on them, basically I play on a regular basis, uhm I think... Now about my age I'm turning fourteen on June 23.

I just realized that posting your age may be considered personal information and be against the site policy, so don't feel like you have to post your age. I was just curious how old MMORPG players were.

Well, to answer your question...

Why people play MMORPGs?

-Well, it's quite fun playing with other people! Get to know each other and be friends then. And, I think it's quite boring when it comes to just...uh, how do you put this? A Single Player, I think. Well, it's quite boring when you're only fighting with a Computer, it would be fun to see another's strategy, don't you think? Well, that's all I can think for now though.

What you think about them?

-Hmmm, I think my answer to that question is more like from my first answer...

Which ones do you play and why?

-I play WoW, Runescape, Club Penguin [?] and some other games. Well, since I've been a Warcraft III Frozen Throne player for a long time now, I found of this cool game called 'World of Warcraft' and I was interested in joining, it was fun when I already have an account and started customizing my player, I play for the Horde since I do think the Alliance [?] is weak and all... Runescape? I was bored, nothing to do, so I search some MMORPG in the internet and found Runescape, it kind of reminds me of WoW, but when I was finish customizing my charater, the gameplay here was boring, not like WoW at all! So, I decided to quit. Is Club Penguin a MMORPG? Dunno, but I joined that because, simple, I love Penguins! But I did quit playing that since you have to pay for clothes and stuff! And not just any stupid coins, but you have to pay for real! That was so wrong and unfair for me. Yeah, that's about it.

What do you feel are some good and/or bad things about MMORPGs?

-Good thing - You can also play with your friend if he or she is playing in that MMORPG, it's fun seeing many people play and fight with different strategies, I learn from those wise people. [Lol.] And it's boring when it comes to Single Player...mode. Fighting the Computer is almost the same thing whether it's hard or not!

-Bad thing - Sometimes, if you can speak with other gamers, they can be rude, disgusting or even stupid... So, beware! Also, when it comes to playing the game, sometimes, they don't give out much detail of the game, and when you play it, it's boring... So, watch it! And blah, blah, blah.

Do you find that you spend too much time playing them?

Not at all, I don't spend my time here like some 24/7 people, I have a limit, I spend 2 - 3 hours here and there, it's nice to be out sometimes rather than staying and starring in front of your computer!

Also, what's your age?

I'm 13, why do you want to know? [Lol.] I'm not giving out my birthdate if you want it!

I play MMORPG's because they're more fun than other non-online games, and also because I get to hang out with friends during summer and weekends and stuff. I play Everquest, mostly because it's the best MMORPG out there( at least if you're rich and a high lvl like I am.) The only bad thing about MMORPG's are that they are too addictive and you waste a lot of your life playing them like I do. And I'm 13

Well i played MMORPG's (runescape,MU,9dragons) because i love RPG games, and i love the interaction with ppl. I am a total rpg addict so i have had my weeks of straight playing alll day. Then my mother would ban me...and i would get unaddicted. But to help you with your age question. When i played runescap i was like 12-13 and i was SUPER ADDICTED to it. Me and my bro's played all day every day in the summer. Then came MU at like 13-14 and it wasn't as bad but still pretty bad. Then i just quit playing until earlier this year when i picked up 9dragons and promptly quit playing in a week. Its clear to me that at 17 i really can't get into MMO's as much anymore one because i have a car and a life and two because the ppl on the games are annoing or total pricks. So i stick to my console rpg's-KOTOR 1&2 and hopefully soon, mass effect. (SOOO GOOD)
