So from What i've seen the new Spiderman movie will FINALLY! be following the comic book series. As an avid comic book reader/marvel & DC Geek the first 3 movies were awful. the movies did not follow Stan Lee's comics at all! this one at least appears to reflect the comic series. but if Peter Parker doesn't break Gwen Stacy's back while trying to save her i'm going to be soooooo disappointed
I kinda wish i had read the comic books before watching the movie. I think i would have enjoyed the movies more
But i did see the first movie and the most recent one and i have to wounder why they made the most recent one... i mean it was exactly like the first one!
he gets bitten by a spider tuns into spider man gets a girlfriend fights crime movie ends.
it was exciting. and a good movie. just it was a remake of the first one...
Spider Man 4 was cancelled as most of the cast quit, so they did a reboot. Nothing wrong with that.
I guess it would be tough to completely recast and stay in the same series. But i was kind of expecting a different plot. Very similar. but not as close as it was to the first one. Still a good movie.
The new Spiderman is far better than the original three, they made Peter Parker more awkward and dorky, they had a great cast, they put it in modern times which added to it. The only down part is that he cannot launch webs yet he does have super strength which kinda evens it out.
The Amazing Spider-Man was anything but Amazing. For a movie that advertised itself on both the "Untold Story" and more faithful to the comic books, it was neither. I would not say that I am a comic book geek, but I know enough about the comic books to hold a decent argument if someone started an argument with me. So I was really looking forward to this movie because I normally absolutely love superhero movies.
I think Andrew Garfield did great at his role, but they wrote Peter Parker wrong. Parker was supposed to be a geek and dorky, but he was neither in the movie. Instead of being picked on, he stood up for those who were being picked on prior to becoming Spider-Man. They brought out a side of him that was more "unk" when this is completely insane. Emma Stone was amazing, but again, I think Gwen Stacy was written wrong. She never found out that Parker was Spider-Man and she even grew to strongly dislike him because she blamed him for her father's death.
Anyway, I know that superhero movies are not meant to be believable, but at least I found myself getting sucked into other superhero movies, e.g. The Avengers and Iron Man. This one was completely unbelievable. From the storyline down to the special effects (which were awful, the entire scene with Spider-Man at the school was painful to watch), I didn't find myself enjoying much of the movie.
The outfit was absolutely awful and the lizard was not good. Don't even get me started on the outfit, it looked like a basketball. I felt like Spalding should be put on the front and it should be Spider-Man's head in the Gym scene instead of a basketball.
The heartfelt scenes were well done but often felt awkward and forced. The dialogue was also awkward in places...
Perhaps the most disappointing thing was the Daily Bugle, or lack thereof. I guess that we all got spoiled with J. Jonah Jameson in the last one. I really wish that they had thrown that in along with Betty Brandt...I was really looking forward to that.
The movie was pretty bad. One of the problems is that it wasn't very memorable. From the music to the scenes (don't even get me started on the crane scene...that was just pathetic) it just wasn't good. I remember the scenes I didn't like for obvious reasons, but I never really remembered being wowed like I have in other movies. I was never on the edge of my seat and I found myself predicting most of the movie.
Aaaah I forgot to mention how amazing she was in it. I could watch her all day . She is an amazing actress. Love her in Easy A and The Help. But she made the movie tolerable. Loved the scenes with her in it ;D
i have not read comic books or seen the movie, but from wikipedia, imdb, and other sites, i have a few things to say.
one. high school is from ULTIMATE spider man, not amazing. two. peter did develop organic webbing later on, just saying. three. okay maybe just two things to say.
I don't mean to argue but even in the Ultimate series Gwen still blamed Spider Man for her father's death. In the Ultimate he also never revealed who he was to Gwen Stacy. Ever. They also completely left out the Daily Bugle which was still a major point in the Ultimate and also left out MJ who was also important in the Ultimate. I just don't get how they can claim that this movie was based off of comic books when it kind of was but in more ways wasn't.
