for users who are above 18, where we can just talk about adult stuff like drinking and other adult things

You have to be 21 to drink in the USA. Also how would you prevent younger kids from getting in. It is not a good idea. Most people on this site are under 21. And the point of the site is for games.

yes but the legal age for an adult is 18, the way i see it is if you are old enough to vote,fight,or buy cigarettes, you should probably be able to talk about whatever you want with your friends in a forum without haveing to censor yourselves.? just an idea i thought might be cool

I agree with the age argument. But sad to say, there will always be users who fake their age, hence it's not really feasible.

Not everyone is from the USA. Anyway it's not really 21, 15 states and the District of Columbia ban underage consumption outright, 17 states do not ban underage consumption, and the remaining 18 states have family member and/or location exceptions to their underage consumption laws.

It might sound like a good idea if you're over 18, but it isn't really an appealing advertising point if AG ever wanted to advertise itself since most of the users on this site are under 18.

Since when couldn't we talk about drinking and smoking on AG? There was a long porn thread at some point, and the one about fetishes was pretty amusing as well.
Seriously, unless you are going to talk about it like an idiot rather than an adult, there is no reason why you can't do it without making a section for people over the legal age of whatever.

Probably was a fine reason for it.
There have also been weed-threads that has been locked, but that seems to mainly because people are going to be idiots about it.
I'm not saying the threads aren't going to be locked if they get out of hand or are worded wrong or anything, just that, well, AG's pg13, and it hasn't stopped anyone from having discussions about adult themes, as long as, again, they are not going to be complete morons about it.
