Welcome to The BLACKMARKET! Shh! Don't tell the other mods about this! You'll find everything you're looking for here.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Everyone starts out with 1000 Credits.
2. Everyone can do one of four actions per post. No double-posting.
OFFER - You offer something on the blackmarket. You only do this the first time you post.
BUY - You buy something. Subtract the value from your credits. You cannot buy your own product. You already have infinite units. How much more do you need?
SELL - You sell something. Add the value to your credits. You cannot sell your own product. Other dealers must buy from you. Where do the credits from selling items come from if not other dealers? Well, the blackmarket is bigger than this little corner of Armor Games.
CHECK - You check the price of something. The market is highly volatile. Roll 2d4 to check the price change rounded to the nearest 1. (Round up from 0.5) You can only check one item per post. No double-posting. You cannot check the price of your own product.
2 = -50%
3 = -25%
4 = -10%
5 = +0%
6 = +20%
7 = +50%
8 = +100%
Note: If any non 2d4 dice are rolled for a CHECK, no change occurs.
3. Everyone must OFFER before they can BUY. You have infinite units of your own product. You cannot BUY/SELL your own product. Other dealers must BUY from you. Roll 20d20 for the initial unit price of your product.
4. Add new products to the market with the price and dealer.
5. Manage your own account. It is up to you collect credits from when someone buys your product. Failure to do so results in forfeiture of profits. You must collect all prior debts on your next post.

RULES
1. Don't cheat other dealers. Double-posting will result in being blacklisted from the blackmarket. All remaining product can be liquidated for the twice the last market value.
2. Mistakes in pricing, inventory, selling your own product, adding more credits to your account than what was purchased from you or you sold, etc. will cost you 50% of your wealth if you are found out. And you'd better pay up. Don't forget to deduct when you buy.
3. Mistakes in dice rolls for your product will cost you. Your product is now cheaper than what it could be worth because you rolled 20d6 instead of 20d20.
4. Mistakes in product name will make your product worthless. Too bad! Use [UNDERSCORES] not [SPACES] in dice rolls!

ENDGAME
Earn as much credits as you can or go broke trying. It is impossible to go bankrupt as items can't reach 0 value (unless you messed up on the product name.) But it is possible to have a net worth so low that you effectively have 0 purchasing power and are at the mercy of the market as you wait for the prices of the items in your inventory to increase. If your product is still worth something, you are going to have to hope enough dealers buy your product to put you back into the game. If your product is worth 0, too bad. You're effectively broke.

OOC: The first link to Penrose_triangles is an external link and does not indicate a roll. The 42 was most likely the initial supply, which is supposed to be infinite. Due to the confusion in riku_ullman's offer, now is a good time to start over with finite supplies. As a mistake defense, I will not post an action in this post.

OOC: I'd like to pause the gameplay here and discuss it, specifically what issues there are and how it might be fixed. I really need to run trial versions for something so complex, but I expected it to run somewhat smoothly.

Here's a proposal. I think it's more complex, though.:
- You do not have infinite product.
- You start with 2000 C (or a higher value?)
- You INVEST 500 C to develop [2d4] units of PRODUCT Mk. # at [20d20] value. This works out to an average profit of 550 C, almost double profits. -460 // +550 // +2700 is the min / mean / max on initial value. This goes into the blackmarket and is part of your inventory.
-- You can INVEST more to produce more. 1000 C for [4d4] units up to 5000 C for [20d4] units.
- You can produce the same product as different users at different values. PRODUCT Mk. #
- You BUY direct from dealer from what is offered on the market.
- You SELL to the market (product disappears) or OFFER on the market other dealers (product listed on Blackmarket)
-- You cannot SELL your own product to the market.
- CHECK (2d4) will work the same way
- CHECKs must specific PRODUCT Mk. # DEALER
- Mistakes incur a 500 C 'forgiveness' fee to make math easier.
-- Wrong market listing = 500 C fee
-- Wrong inventory listing = 500 C fee
-- No fee incurred if it is not your original mistake.
-- Outstanding fees will result in blacklisting from the blackmarket until fees are paid
- Items will be listed on the Blackmarket as PRODUCT Mk. # = UNITS [PRICE] (DEALER)
- Wrong CHECK dice = no price change
- At the beginning of each week, [1d4] number of items ([2d4] units at [20d20]) appear on the blackmarket from NPC dealers along with the weekly market report (which I was going to do, but since we;re restarting, that point is moot.)

Put this on a trial run for a week. Any comments or suggestions?

OOC: A few things (mostly clarifications):

1)

- You can produce the same product as different users at different values. PRODUCT Mk. #

This most likely means that different users can offer the same product, but there is a Mk. # to differentiate them.

2)

OFFER on the market other dealers (product listed on Blackmarket)

By dealers, you most likely mean product because dealers = users (and NPCs). Does this mean we're allowed to offer multiple products?

3)

You INVEST 500 C to develop [2d4] units of PRODUCT Mk. # at [20d20] value. This works out to an average profit of 550 C, almost double profits.

It's actually more than double profits, but 500 is easy to work with, and increasing the price to 1000 for 2d4 units would make the profit 5%, which is too small. That means 500 is a good price for a 2d4 unit offer.

4) The proposal includes NPC dealers, but is also specifies that you can't sell your own product. Does this mean NPCs will occasionally buy products from users? If so, will NPCs also be able to use the Check action?

OOC:
@Patrick2011:
1. Yes. Different users can offer the same product.

2. It's missing the word "to" before "other dealers". This means you can be offering multiple products for sale.

3. Yeah, I change some numbers around but didn't change the wording.

4. No. You have to OFFER something you produced, but you can SELL something you bought.

Anyone else? Change? yes? no? Keep it the same?

OOC: Well, back to "business" as usual then. Gameplay resumes after this point if there is any gameplay left to resume.

For the sake of convenience, I'll just post the current sheet:

BLACKMARKET:
Anti_Mod_Spray= 259 (Loop_Stratos)
Baby_Dragon = 208 (silver199)
Broken_Banhammers = 311 (Darkfire45)
Counterfeit_Numbers = 200 (Gantic)
Dogecoin = 162 (MattEmAngel)
Reset_Shields = 344 (Patrick2011)
Penrose_triangles = 180 (riku_ullman)

(Also, I'm leaving riku's product's price as 180 since that's what he rolled. And that's final so don't change it to 42.)
