Hello! And welcome to the first medieval arena, here several fighters will compete to win the grand prize of... well there is no grand prize but it will be fun.

Tournament Process:

Step 1:

Each fighter receives a number based off of when they replied to the signup thread. The fighter Claunch gets the number 1, the fighter Doombreed gets the number 2, the fighter Alcolm Malorno gets number 3 and the fighter Norðri Jötunn-Blood gets the number 4.

Step 2:

I generate two random numbers from 1 to 4 (Re-generating in the case of duplicate numbers). The fighters that correspond to those numbers go against each other, the fighters corresponding to the other 2 number also fight against each other.

Step 3:

A random number from 1 through 5 is generated for each matchup, each number corresponds to a different arena (See below). The number generated shall deem where the fight takes place.

Step 4:

The balancing round begins, in this round if you lose you are not eliminated from the tournament. However at the end of the balancing round I may change skills.

Step 5: Step 2 is repeated.

Step 6: Step 3 is repeated.

Step 7: The first elimination round begins with the new matches and arena from steps 5 and 6. In this round losers are eliminated from the tournament

Step 8: Step 3 is repeated again.

Step 9: The final match begins with the new arena from step 8. The 2 remaining players face off. The winner of this battle is the winner of the entire tournament.

Battles:

Battle is turn based. Each turn you can use either a skill or action. Skills are listed on your character sheet and actions can be anything. Common actions included moving, hiding, trying to find someones who's hidden, or taking off (If your character can fly.). Skills can be used as long as any cool downs have worn off, and the character is at the correct range. The ranges are the following.

Short range (Only melee attacks and short range ranged attacks can be used here. Medium ranged attacks and ranged attacks cannot be used here.)

Medium Range (Melee attacks with weapons such as polearms or broadswords can be used here swell as medium ranged range attack and ranged attacks. Melee attacks with short weapons as well as short range ranged attacks cannot be used here.)

Long Range (Only ranged attacks can be used here. Melee attacks with short or long weapons as well as medium range ranged attacks and short range ranged attacks can not be used here.)

Very Long Range (No attacks can be used here.)

Arenas

1: Gladiator Arena (completely flat, sand floor)

2: Forest (Filled with trees, grass floor)

3: Mountain (Large Mountain, rock floor)

4: Plains (Mostly flat plain with several hills, grass floor)

5: Tundra (Flat snowy area, snow floor

Rules

1. If there is no response within 72 hours the fighter will be disqualified.

2. No god modeing with actions.

Frenzy: (increases damage dealt by 25% and also ignores 15% of armor until Frenzy is over, but decreases dodge chance by 20% and armor by 20%, Lasts 3 turns)
Final stand (Whenever the user is below 20% health, the user decides they are about to die, and they decide to take as many as they can with them. increasing damage by 50%, decreasing armor by 50%, decreasing dodge by 25%, and all abilities get an extra 30% chance to burn.)
Fit (If the user hasn't been attacked in 2 turns, hasn't attacked an enemy in 2 turns and they have 75% health or higher, The user regains all health lost and loses all status effects.)

(just to make sure and for future reference, walking up to someone counts as a full action, and you can only walk one range unit at a time, is that correct?)

I think that's correct but maybe it shouldn't be. What I mean is that Heavily armored characters may need to have a harder time closing in on their opponents than agile ones. But then again, heavy characters generally tend to deal more damage up close, so these two cancel each other out somewhat. Therefore, it is not too bad that all characters can close in on their opponents equally well in the end

I went back to the sign-up thread, and it is explained there. Low, average and high speed take 1 turn to move 1 range. The difference between each is the dodge chance. There IS an advantage to having average or high speed, however, which is that if you are low speed like me, attacks that lower my stats mean I'll have very low speed and take 2 turns for 1 range temporarily. So while my base speed means I can walk just as fast as anyone, I am more susceptible to being slowed down. I think that's fair.
