First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Yes, they are. I'm really busy this week (and in the midst of recovering from a bad cold) so this may take a while).

Delicate orb above the world, asunder,
Its dim vestige visible on the dew-damp grass,
Harbinger and gaurdian of the night.

Half light high above,
It shines, yet fails to illuminate,
Necrotic reflections of its brother.

Thin slip of silver,
Shallow cut in night's vastness,
Fixed to heal and open anew.

Great entry, ubertuna. You'll surely win this round.

Are entries closed now?

Yes, they are.

Oh, never mind.

I repeat, how's judging coming?

Can you give us a theme, and delay judging at least?

The Man on the Moon

Life goes on,
Life is short,
Life is loving,
But not for the man on the moon

He can sing,
He can dance,
He can do many things,
Oh that man on the moon

But once you look,
At the innumerable stars,
And see that gray sphere,
With all it's scars

You see that face,
The face of loneliness,
The face that tries to hide,
On the dark side of the moon

That makes me feel sad,
Sometimes ornery,
For that man on the moon

So when I die,
I will pledge,
My stars will lie next to the moon.

When day fades to night,
Blanketing the world in sheets of grey,
The Moon's silver light,
Seems to rub the sins of man away.

I agree, I wanted to enter this poetry contest, but I was too late, and now I am really eager to enter the next! After two weeks a cold should have died down to the point where you can turn on a computer and read a few poems . . . Heck, a few poems would probably take your mind of this presumably immobilising cold. Please hurry up, I want to write a poem!
