The year is 2012. The universe is not ours, but a similar one. In this universe, the world was affected by a class 3-a apocalypse: an outside force wiped out all human life. Whether grudge or scientific experiment, all humans died without the other creatures dying.

A few hundred years later, the creatures of Earth have begun to compete to fill the space. Whether sensible or farfetched, many creatures competed. Now, we know of three, so where the others went, I don't know...

In this forum game, You will choose a creature on Earth and compete with other players and against nature to become civilized.

The sheet:

Racial sheet
Name:
Original Creature:
Psychology:
Development: Primal
Description:
Origin:

Name: What we call your race.

Original Creature: What creature the race is based off of. These creatures are already taken:

Domestic cats (Cheezburgians)
Computers (Youtubians)
Gorillas (Chanians)

Psychology: How your race operates as a whole.

Delevopment: What stage of creature you are, such as Primal, tribal and Spacial.

Description: What your species can do and how it looks. Please no god-modding, but it can be ridiculous.

Origin: How your race started to develop into thinking creatures. Bonus points if It's believable, so the more ridiculous, the harder it is to make it believable, but the more awesome it is when you succeed!

Example:

Name: Cheezburgians
Original Creature: Common Housecats
Psychology: Stealthy Hunter
Development: Primal
Description: Stealthy creatures who have great senses and are primarily nocturnal. looks like normal cats, except human sized and switch between biped and quadruped.
Origin: Signs of sapience showed when they began protecting bird coops to use the birds as a consistent food source. At first they survived by reverting to the wild side still in domestic cats.

Name: Behemel
Original Creature: Bears
Psychology: Tyrant Lone Wolves
Development: Tribe
Description: Bear-like creatures with huge fists. They travel by themselves and take control of land by themselves. They act like savage Hitlers.
Origin: They were bears injected with experimental chemicals designed to create super-soldiers. They instead became savage beastly tyrants

You kill a plump and tasty member of your domestic herd! eventually, a bolt just comes out of the blue sky and strikes the domestic creature (We really need a name for that guy). However, you still don't feel connected to teh Behemel above Behemel.

you head back, and one of your herd members is acting odd. It's cooing like a baby that just met its mama.

Name: Syphronitzans
Original creature: Scorpion
Psychology: smart swarm
Development: Sapient
Description: Able to learn incredibly fast. They react quickly but don't use their resources as much as they should. They are about a foot tall, two feet long and a foot wide. They are mostly black with two white stripes on their backs coming from their red heads.
Origin: they came from the regular kinds of scorpions from before the apocalypse, only much larger. They grew when they confronted a dangerous growth hormone. Now they are much bigger and much more lethal.

So you have T-Rex arms with or as opposed to pincers? Either way, that does separate you from Radscorpions.

Arms: yes. Pinchers: no. The picture: not even close. Sort of. They are completely black (the picture was sort of dark dark blue) with a noticable head (can't really see much of a head in the picture) that is red, with two white stripes going from the head/neck to the base of the tail (which is black). Make sense?

Okay, now back to the story...

We decide that we should start building a home for us. So, like ants, we decide that we should burrow into the ground so that we don't have to deal with running out of resources, and it would protects us from any outside dangers. We decide, though, that it would be best to use any dead wood (which I imagine there wouldn't be much of) to build a lookout point, in case of seeing any incoming danger, and, if there is enough, to build a wall around the site that we would burrow.

I just thought of something to compare the head and claws to. Have you ever seen Independence Day? Good movie. Anyhoo, I just remembered the scene where you see the half-dissected alien (Spoiler!) attacking people... Yeah.

So, change the color, change the pincers for arms and add a more noticeable head. I have a good image.

You would break wood for a post, but there isn't enough wood nearby and what wood there is is too weak to be used for construction. The best you can manage is putting a carcass over your burrow's entrance. The underground proves to be hard to dig though, since often times the ceiling caves in if something walks on it. There are also hard walls that you can't break though.

You try bringing a mate to it, but it seems not to care. However, you do notice it has a little leaf in its mouth that is slightly smoking.

I decide to try it and pick up a leaf, set it smoking, but not on fire, and put it in my mouth.

We decide that even the wastelands aren't a decent living place, plus the wildlife in the area is scattered. We wonder what would be better: to move on and find another home or go from place to place, stuffing what we can into our mouths and moving on, sort of like a parasite. While going from place to place has its adventures, we decide the best way to move on is not to let ourselves get beaten to death while we scavenge and kill for our food.

The leaf send you into a trance! In this trance, you see a land of great brightness! You see an outline of a great Behemel and hear a powerful voice!

Barroth. We are pleased with your gift to us. But, to please us, you will make a great construct to us, like the caves that protect you, and use it to honor us. It will be with many great chambers and you will be guided to a clearing in which to build the construct. Now, you must go. Your tribe awaits...

the beautiful world fades back to your cave, with a member of your tribe over you.

Jaggi: Great Chief! Great Chief Barroth! Be you well?

The wastes being as barren as they are, you decide to move away from them. You move to a great shadow on the horizon, passing through much waste and desert along the way. As the shadow becomes closer, the wastes begin to turn from wastes to verdant grassland.

Eventually, the great shadow comes into focus as a colossal mass of hard stone. There is much life along the slopes, and a great expanse of underground inside it. Even in the caves, you find a great abundance of life that you can hunt.

Very, very excited, we decide to settle down somewhere in the rocks, no matter what dwells within.

You settle into the caverns, making a niche for your species. In time, you become a dominant species without extincting the ecosystem. In time, you develop a higher state of collective sense derived from a higher population that allows Syphronitzans to think more independently, but still thinking in a sense of empathy and the good of all. You are becoming a tribe! A communist tribe, but still a tribe nonetheless. You must choose an avatar. Kinda odd, since you're a communist hive mind, but it just calls for a creative response.

Yay! a tribe. What do you mean by 'avatar', though? You mean one to control?

You begin the feast! As you finish up and fun back to your den, you feel a better connection. Over time, the pack grows and learns better tactics, chasing out the other Primals. You have advanced to Sapiens!

Years have passed. You have made a much more refined hunting tactic, and keep trophies of your hunts. You, however, have a bit of a rivalry problem. You tend to have more dangerous time while hunting, since you have to compete with Cheezburgians for your food. You are also wondering what the heck to do with all your trophies. The Cheezburgian furs, Syphronitzan carcasses, Behemel fangs and the occasional Youtubian parts are taking up space.

Yeah, a presence to control in higher stages of intelligence.

I have seen the Great One, and he wishes for us to build him a giant construct with many great chambers to honor him. We will be guided to find this clearing to make it!

I tell people to look for a clearing to build.
