How do you link to a specific post? I remember that some people were able to do it a long time ago, and recently I've seen the need to do it in my Writing Thread. So if anybody could tell me, that'd be great.
You can navigate to that oher thread, copy the url from your browser's address bar, and paste it in a new message using the 'link' button above the ext editor.
If you use that URL you will see the post like if it was the OP of an empty thread, it will be the only viewable post. To get the post's number you just have to put your cursor over the "Flag This" button.
Here is an example (in this case I'm using cormyn's post):
I think the best way to link to a specific post is to link to the post's page, then make sure it can be distinguished from the other posts.
Yes, but theres a way you can link to a specific post on a page. So I could link to post #3 on this page, and when you click the link, BlackSkullDragon's post shows up, along with the rest of the page. But you're shown his post first.

I think that would mess up the order of the page then. Linking to a page rather than a post keeps the order and removes confusion from post order.

Not really. If I link to a page, the first post I see is the one on the top of the page. So rather, I'm trying to link to a specific post on a page. When you click the link, you're shown that link first.
