What other positions are available on this site other then moderator and admin?

That's it. Mods and admins. There might be some super secret spy jobs AG admins are hiding from us, but there's probably some password to it. I bet they have training centers though. Google it...

To be an admin, you need to get a full-time job with Armor Games. (we're hiring)

There are no other super secret roles.

To the host of the post,

I can perfectly understand why the exceptions of moderation are taken into account during the decisions of promotion, (i.e. "Should we make this person a moderator) but why does personal backround and fame apply to the final take in the reccomendation? Sure, it makes sense that you would want someone with a clean record, but the intake of fame in the decision, I think, is a little unneccessary. It's good for the moderator promoted to be well known, but that doesn't mean it should outrank the users personal character. I'm not neccessarily asking for an answer, but I think you should take into consideration that if someone's trustworthy enough, their fame shouldn't outbalance that. Delete this comment if you must, for it is i guess, in some way, negative, but I just want to express what would be more "right" than "easy"

It's not so much fame that we are looking for, but the posting record and the activity that would bring about said fame. It goes without saying that if you post frequently, people will get to recognize you. But that's technically what we're not looking for. We want to see good, solid activity coming from potential users and a strong grasp of core forum areas. It's not just frequent posting alone either. We don't want to see your frequent posts "effortless", or "spammy". That ties in with the "how many posts and comments were deleted in relation to how many were legit".

Fame is an unintended side effect, but it does happen when users post frequently, present good points, and help others. Hope that answers your question :)

And just an add on:

When Freakenstein was announced as new mod, nobody was like "Hey, who's this Freakenstein person?" Everyone actually knew Freakenstein from the forums as a loyal, Mod worthy man. I even see helping posts all over from him when he wasn't even a mod. And yet I heard him say "I'm writing all of this helpful stuff to be mod". He's a helper and is mod worthy.

Even simpler put: If the mods don't know you, you are not going to get picked. The more well known you are, the bigger is the chance that the mods are aware you exist (and like you enough to let you in on the team).

Would you select someone who is under 18 if you know that they are mature?

I would doubt it. I think they would want a mod atleast 18 to know for sure they are mature.

That guide is wrong. This thread is the correct guide.
