We will only know when the time comes. Until then enjoy your life.

Simple as that.

The mayan calender doesn't account for leapyear. According to those who think it predicts the end of the world it should have ended a while ago.

Let me tell you all something: they aren't saying the worlds gonna end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar stopped on that date. They think that the Mayans predicted that the sun will align itself with a black hole on that date and the world will be pulled towrds the sun as a result of all that gravity. Considering that the mayans knew the circumfrence of the earth, invented the number 0, knew the distance of the sun to the earth, were only off by a few seconds when they made their calendar, and could predict accurately whenever an eclipse happened, it could actually be probable that they were right.

you know that the sun is made out of helium and hydrogen? the two hydrogens fusion to one helium. that means, if the sun has no hydrogen left, it will die. but the sun has many many hydrogen (so 75%) and the rest is helium.

A black hole is a region of spacetime from which nothing, not even light, can escape.[1] The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass will deform spacetime to form a black hole. Around a black hole there is a mathematically defined surface called an event horizon that marks the point of no return. It is called "black" because it absorbs all the light that hits the horizon, reflecting nothing, just like a perfect black body in thermodynamics.[2][3] Quantum mechanics predicts that black holes emit radiation like a black body with a finite temperature. This temperature is inversely proportional to the mass of the black hole, making it difficult to observe this radiation for black holes of stellar mass or greater.

Objects whose gravity field is too strong for light to escape were first considered in the 18th century by John Michell and Pierre-Simon Laplace. The first modern solution of general relativity that would characterize a black hole was found by Karl Schwarzschild in 1916, although its interpretation as a region of space from which nothing can escape was not fully appreciated for another four decades. Long considered a mathematical curiosity, it was during the 1960s that theoretical work showed black holes were a generic prediction of general relativity. The discovery of neutron stars sparked interest in gravitationally collapsed compact objects as a possible astrophysical reality.

Black holes of stellar mass are expected to form when very massive stars collapse at the end of their life cycle. After a black hole has formed it can continue to grow by absorbing mass from its surroundings. By absorbing other stars and merging with other black holes, supermassive black holes of millions of solar masses may form. There is general consensus that supermassive black holes exist in the centers of most galaxies. In particular, there is strong evidence of a black hole of more than 4 million solar masses at the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

i think that the planet earth has many time (some billion years, who knows?) till it dies.

First:Nice Wikipedia Copy/Paste
Second:If there was a Mayan prediction, from my point of view,it would be a cicle, when the race dies,a new Ice age forms>Life starts again. And that cicle goes on and on and on and on.....

...

You really think the Mayans knew what Black Holes were...

when the race dies,a new Ice age forms

Uh, no. Species dying does not equal an ice age.

They were off a lot more than that. At least a year. For being so smart that they invented the number 0(lol), they sure would feel stupid if they found out today that they forgot leap year.

they forgot leap year.

They didn't need a leap anything. Their calendar simply counts days. It's accepted that their calendar's overall count began on what translates to August 11, 3114 BCE. Today, Tuesday April 10, 2012, in the Long Count is 12.19.19.5.5

Invent the number zero? It is not like the spanish went over there and said "Oh look, this 0 thing is impressive!", the English had their own zero. They got it from the Arabs and the Indians. The Arabic numerals.

Do you know what a leap year is? Basically on our calendar, every few years we accumulate enough hours that we need to add a few extra days. It isn't something that has to be added to every calendar, just ours.

Instead of dyeing after fusing all it's hydrogen, it'l start fusing oxygen, then carbon, then iron. It's basic solar system chemistry. (I might be off a bit, need to refresh on my basics, so could somebody correct me if I am wrong about the order?)

The only way planet earth can go to hell is if it is engulfed by the sun.

Which probably won't happen, it is theorized that it will only get to absorb venus and mercury and scorch everything on this planet like burning an ant with a magnifying glass.

I don't think that there is Iron in there.

Correct. Sorry about that.

Yeah, we're so close to the border line that we don't know.

Eh? Where in hell does it get the carbon, oxygen, and iron? If it has it, it is already burning it.....

No it is not. It is "Insanely believed", not theorized. No one sane believes in this.

Famous scientists have said that its crap, but just think about it, what if the UN is hiding it from us?
People who have saw the film will recognise the carbomb blast in the starting, it is later reveled it was done to keep the dude's mouth shut.
Im not saying it will occur, but just think about it?
