The only thing that is painfully obvious here is that it is profoundly stupid to compare sci-fi and fantasy..
I prefer LotR by far, of course. I simply prefer that kind of mythic fantasy compared to sci-fi, and the LotR movies were pure awesomeness (except for Frodo. He was stupid..)
Between the two actually more comparable movies, I'd say Star Wars. Especially the older ones, although the battle of the clones had a few neat cutscenes/features. But the old ones were quite creative and still are funny to watch (especially due to the poor special effects^^)
Just because there are big men swinging swords, metal or non-metal, and weird creatures all over the place with a sprinkle of action does not make them alike. It's like asking whether the Emperor or Gandalf will win in a fight, incredibly stupid.
But if we must make this sacrilegious choice, LoTR, much richer character development, the novels were amazing and meticulously detailed, with new languages even created for it. What a dedicated man. The movies were amazing too, given how much went on in the books.
Agreed with HahiHa. Frodo was what ruined it somewhat, he's the male counterpart of Kristen Stewart, with one expression throughout, even when he was wrapped up in spider web. Can't he even play dead properly?
Between Star Wars and Star Trek, Star Wars, because I'm quite a nerd on the expanded Star Wars history and universe. Unfortunately, it doesn't even come a hair's breadth near in terms of detail and eloquence of LoTR.
Okay! Stop saying how "dumb" my question is! All im asking is wich do your prefer! I know there different from each other in its own unique ways, but wich do you like the most because of its uniqueness, thats all!
Lord of the Rings. I have never really liked sci-fi that much. Fantasy has always been my favorite. Even though LotR can drag on at times, it still holds my attention with the plot and characters.
not sure how you added lord of the rings in here without this being locked but.... star wars beats star trek and lord of the rings is completely different so i can't voice an accurate comparison
