With a witty title, this thread is for anything Starcraft related, if you need/want help with levels (or in SC2, achievements), you can ask here.

I have 1 tip, to start out, the prima guide for SC1 is horrible, use it for tips if you have trouble, but not a walkthrough.

And I am curious as to what your favorite race is, mine is either Terran or Toss, never liked Zerg.

finally, to start out with tips, I am a mediocre player, anyone have any tips on how to get better at multiplayer?

For the most part, take it slow on missions that you can. On missions where you have to defend, get lots of tanks, bunkers and turrets. Vikings are your go-to for any mission where there's a lot of air units and Goliaths are good to simply have around. Stick a marauder in every bunker too, so they slow stuff down.

There's a few techniques that help a lot.

-Stutter step. This is where you have a large army and you tell them to attack, then move, then attack again. The reason for this is so that you can advance, letting your whole army get into firing range instead of just the front line, while not decreasing your attack rate by a substantial amount. It's good for both retreating and advancing. (Remember what I was doing with my infantry on Left 2 Die?)

-Keeping your units alive. If you can, always pull back the units that are taking fire and keep them alive.

-Suicide attacks. I know this sounds stupid, but on a few Brutal missions (such as Supernova) the easiest and maybe only way to win is to completely rush the objective without any thought for having the units survive past completing the objective.

If you have questions about specific missions just ask.

-Don't upgrade medic w/o tech add on.
-Get Tech Reactor
-Get Orbital Supply depots
-Get Biosteel
-Get Planetary fortress
-Get science vessels
-Get auto-refineries
-Get Hive Mind Emulator
-Don't upgrade anything for hellions, vultures, firebats, wraiths, ghosts/spectres, medivacs, or battlecruisers.
-Fully upgrade tanks, marines (stim optional), maruaders, banshees, vikings, goliaths, diamondbacks, medics (minus w/o tech reactor), all building upgrades.
-All mercenaries except Devil Dogs.
-Put off Supernova FOR AS LONG AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. Do EVERY OTHER mission that you can beforehand.

got peridition turret, celluar reactor, and upgraded spectres. (because there lash owns units like virophages.

Diamondbacks, why?

so build banshees until my base is destroyed and attack the relic?

I do this.

On haven's fall, can you let all the outposts be destroyed?

Upgrading the specters is okay, I just never use them...

Perdition turrets suck, tbh. They don't do much and are a pain to place. I suppose you could use them at the final level or something, but I'd just rather have another bunker instead...

Cellular reactor is pointless. You don't need more energy or more starting energy.

Diamondbacks, why?

Cause you can micro the hell out of ground with a squad of 5-6 diamond backs. Just run around and they destroy everything >.>

What I did was skip the middle base and head straight for the last base with my banshees and some Hell's Angels I called in. Then I lifted and moved to there, built as many banshees as I could, and suicide ran the vault up the far right of the map. I didn't go for the research or anything else, and I still had about 2 minutes left before the firewall would have reached the edge of the map.

Uh, I think you can only let a certain number be destroyed. I found that mission really easy so I never looked.

When you need to move fast, and your primary unit is specialist (has energy), this is useful.

Can't say I can think of any situation in the campaign where I needed more energy immediately...closest would be in the mission where you get wraiths, but even still starting energy is enough.

Banshees, supernova.

Banshees, supernova.

Not really needed. The cloak lasts long enough to do what it needs to, and their detectors all over make it semi useless at times to boot.

I'll admit, it is a good upgrade, but Biosteel is better. And as you can only get one, I'd rather something that heals hundreds if not thousands of life points every game without me doing anything than +50 starting energy and +100 cap on specialist units that don't really need an energy boost to begin with.

The problem with Supernova is two fold. First, the firewave makes you need to keep moving. On Brutal, you've got about 12-13 minutes to complete the mission. The second problem are the Immortals that get constantly sent at your base. Bunkers don't stand up to them and you don't have any money to spare on defenses. If you always defend your base with your banshee swarm, you don't make any progress and die by firewall. Thus you have to constantly be attacking, but guesstimate when the Immortal task force is going to come and head back beforehand, but not so soon that you don't have time to complete the mission.

I also find it useful for spectres, as it allows them to immediately lash an enemy, and then run back to base, useful for killing virophages. (kill the detector and pull back your vikings, then lash the virophage)

Virophage? That New Haven mission where you are supposed to kill the infected humans? Why would you use specters on that mission? Just Viking swarm..

Because I can save my vikings from unnecessary damage, and/or send them quickly to take out the other base while spectres clean up.

btw, Immortality protocal was very useful on gates of hell (normal) for saving the two thors, as I just drop pod them with a mule.

and it is haven''s fall

Ah, yes...the Immortality Protocal. Such a rigged upgrade, if you like using Thors. They cost a lot though so I never get around to making them...I'd rather get a BC if I'm spending that much on a unit.

Only problem is that gas is hardest to get, and immortality costs 200 gas.

Someone needs to explain to me why normal, unifested Kerrigan showed up at the very end of All In.

The artifact killed all the Zerg in the area. As Kerrigan was originally human, it just got rid of the infestation and she was left alive.

Wait, it costs money to use it? I thought it was free...definitely would prefer bcs then.

No, not kinda of but not really unifested Kerrigan.

Kerrigan with long red hair like she looks in the vidsnap raynor has. She says "don't give up"

If it cost minerals, I would use it (even if it was all 300 minerals), but no, it costs gas.

And thors do counter void rays.
