i personal dont believe it but many groups have predicted it ex: mayans, hopi indians, the bible St Malachy predicted the world will end with the 112th pope; pope bendict is our 111th pope. Why would all these people predict the same date?

Wasn't the world supposed 2 end in 2000...as far as I know it didn't. So what makes this one anymore resonable?

I agree with you it probably wont happen but im pretty sure that we will destroy the earth ourselves before millions of years.Well either be destroyed by aliens, let out a deadly plague, accidently build a robot that destroys humanity, have a crazy man develop a huge bomb and suicide taking every1 down with him,or maybe even get attacked by ghosts from hell.We might even be killed by werewolves, dragons or stuff like that.Ya i know im being way too over exacurative.

I actually.. kind of believe in the Mayans. I didn't believe that the world would end in 2006 (6/6/06) or in 2000, but Mayans were always good in predictions, and even if some people say that this date is a confused date of when the Mayan empire would fall, i still find it would be... interesting if the world would end.

I actually can't wait. Maybe there is just a earthquake?

This whole argument between what's fact and what's fiction is (in my opinion) ridiculous.
Everything in Christianity is true if we have the FAITH to believe it is so.

When there is nothing to prove, we have nothing left but our complete faith to guide us. Faith is not based on fact. Sure, some may say to believe in something that is not backed up by evidence doesn't make sense. But it is faith- it doesn't have to make sense. We just have to believe that in the end, our Lord will come through. And indeed he will.

On topic, however, I don't think that the world ending Dec. 21st, 2012, is anything we should worry about. Is it true? Will it happen?
If it isn't, then it won't. If it is, then so be it. Those who believe have nothing to worry about.

The bible clearly states no man will predict the end. henceforth the mayans were all dumbasses and i stick to the bible. But the family guy episode about Y2k hilarious lol

Well, we're going to run out of oil in about 50 years so how are we going to go on holiday by plane? Y2K reminds me of one episodes of My Name is Earl. And someone got the void thing from a videogame, just a hunch.

Please don't say the world will 'end' in 2012 because that's our olympic hosting time! (GB) Make the most of life so don't worry about this stuff, but the biggest threat to the planet is man.

It's December 23, 2012!
P.S: They knew about for one reasonand one reason only; it's the day their calander ends.

Some of you ridicule their beliefs yet why? When they were the most advanced culture for their time. They were hundreds of years ahead of other cultures in their time! And some of you want proof... well this is what I can find:

Meteors? No. With our technology and the proclaimed 'deadline' we would have seen the(se) meteors and comets before they hit us.

Void? Possibly, for we have seen it and around the time the Mayans predicted we become aligned with it and it could drastically alter our planet's surface.

Global Warming? No. The ice caps aren't melting fast enough to cuase enough damage to 'end the world' by that date. And the temperature wouldn't even rise a degree (F) in that time either.

So what is it? Hrm? Let's talk about the void.

In the alignment (by theory) this void will have the ability to pull on our planet but not enough to pull us out of orbit. What this means is it can change our orbit, re-tilt our planet, cause world-wide eruptions and vast tidal changes. Let's sum that up:

Different orbit = colder climates

Re-tilt = climate changes i.e] poles metling

World-wide eruptions = Earthquakes, large holes and
canyons, smog, Ice-age

Tidal changes = Flooding, tidal waves

It seems pretty darn deadly to me!

Hmm, my calander ended a few days ago and I'm still here. I just bought a new one. It wasn't the end of the world... I actually like this one, it has cool pictures. Maybe the world reverse ended, and now its better than before. Wait..... nope, stock markets still down...

Also, he has a really good point with the whole theory!
