in Beijing, china, they are starting this years Olympics with all of the sports you can think of, although there is a price. Thousands right now are are homeless because of the Olympics, they have been tearing down homes one by one to make room for this years Olympics. To make it worse about 3/5 people don't even have insurance!!! do you think the Olympics should be canceled? (I do)

I will answer this question the same way i did the last time this was brought up...
Did our absence do any good at the Games in Russia in the 80's?

i think we should go so we could prove to the chinese we have better athletes so inturn they would think we have better everything which would include better government, then they would get scared
(kindof like the olympics with Hitler where a black man from America won that super race)

I do think the Olympics shouldn't be held this year...and for another reason too: CHINA IS RULING OVER TIBET!!! It's not right; an honorable event should be held by an honorable country...and a country that has forced power over another is not fit for this job!

Lawl, who does that leave?

@ Graham: "Ha! Our athletes are better than yours! We MUST be a superior country! Bow to us!".

It does seem pretty mean that houses are being torn down for the Olympics but canceling the Olympics is a crazy thought. The whole world has liked the Olympics for years and I don't think that because they are tearing down a few houses is enough of a reason to end the Olympics even if it wrong.

It is crazy to do such a thing, plus all of their work would of been streaked. They took 4 years to find the right amount of people and how many that we're good or amazing. I think the people and the world would be very disappointed...

I think it is wrong. We gave Cina the Olympics on the condition that they would improve their human rights in both China and their provinces and they havent done that. Furthermore they have been supplying the Sudanese regime which is killing its own people with weapons in return for oil. The world and UN or even single nations should make a stand because right now it seems like any country can do what they want and the civilised world will just issue empty threats.

I am chinese and i am going. I do think, if it is true, that it is wrong. I have not heard of people's homes getting teared down. Many people live in apartments. They just can't cancel it. They had so much construction. Last time i went, the construction was already started. But i believe thats was like one year ago.

Look, the Olympics is the only thing that everyone in the world participates in together. I think it would be fair for everyone to have a shot at hosting them, no matter their political stance. The whole point of the Olympics is to put all those differences aside.
