This thread is just like Battle of the Bands or Battle of the Brands, except with creatures.
Basically all you do is you vote for an animal that would beat the other.
Today we will solve one of movies greatest mysteries:
Lions
That match depends almost entirely on the situation. If the croc was out of the water, maybe, but once water is involved I'd vote croc. Of course, Gorillas also work in sophisticated groups...
I'm going to say that the croc wins over all in this one.
In the previous battle the lion and the bear were relatively similar in all aspects, and the bear superior in all.. in this battle the animals are more different.
As it has been mentioned, it depends on the setting. Each animal is stronger than the other in their own habitate. The gorilla is a muscle pack, and it has a higher intellect than the crocodile. The crocodile has a deadly bite and is well armored with scales and osteoderms.
The disadvantage of the crocodile is its relative clumsiness on land compared to the gorilla. Smaller crocodiles can gallop to escape danger, but those hardly pose a threat to a grown gorilla. As it has been evidenced recently, crocodiles can be vulnerable on land: [url=http://www.halbrindley.com/photos/leopard-seq/01.html]
The disadvantage of the gorillas is their weak skin. Thinking of it, that's pretty much their only disadvantage. They do have imposing canines:
I think the fight would go down like this: Crocodile gets the gorrilla in a death bite, the gorrilla then starts pounding the crocodile in the head while the crocodile tries to pull the gorrilla towards water. This is the part where I can see it going both ways. My vote will go to the gorrilla because i think that after being smashed in the head a few hundred times the Crocodile will have either let go or died.
If it's a silverback vs a Nile croc, I vote gorilla. Say the croc bites an arm and tries to roll. The gorilla lifts the croc out of the water and proceeds to smash the hell out of it with over a thousand pounds of force per blow.
A crocodile has incredibly strong hide which I imagine can take blows from a gorilla I think the croc would grab the gorilla a tear off a limb and the gorilla would probably be in shock and be bleeding out and then the croc would finish it off.
Anyway, I think a gorilla's range of motion gives it the definitive advantage here. I think a double-fisted slam to the top of the head could incapacitate it, and another could just scramble its brains.
Tigers are bigger and stronger. A cheetah's strength is the sprint, but what use is it against an animal that likely won't run away? Even if the cheetah ran away, it can only sprint for so long until exhaustion. Tiger hunts cheetah down, cheetah dead.
Pfft who brings fictional movie logic to a battle of animals based on real life strengths? Size to strength ratio for Kong probably wasn't even right to begin with.
Anyways, I vote for Tiger because of the aforementioned reasons.
