Rules:
1.New players are always welcome.
2.Double check to make sure you completely filled out the nation sheet.
3.If I haven't specified something, you can make it up yourself. But nothing too extreme without my permission. For example, if I say your in a forest, you can say that it's made up of only oak and maple trees. What you cannot do is say that there is a native tribe of cannibals hidden in the trees.
4.If you have questions or feel I've done something wrong, feel free to ask or correct me.
5.I'll overlook how your species could have evolved, but not how they currently exist. For example, I'll allow a ants with lungs which allow them to grow very large, but not a chipmunk that's the size of Mt.Everest and only eats a leaf a day. Unless you have an unbelievably good explanation.
6.No aliens.
7.You can do virtually anything in this, but if you do something really stupid that I don't like, for example start a space program when your in the iron age, I'll probaly say a tornado hits and destroys the program.
8. I may change the rules or the character sheet if they need changing. I probaly won't though if your strongly against it.
This country RPG differs from others because you will not play as humans, and you must play as a different species. This species will still be smart enough to eventually build a civilization though. I'd prefer something unique, like a race of giant owls who worship leaf gods, but if you really want to play as elves I'll probaly allow it.
How this works: You will post an action and I will post a reaction. Then you post another action and I post another reaction. You can interact with other players and I may decide to force you to interact with other players, in-game. For example:
You: I send twenty chipmunk gatherers to get nuts.
Me: Your chipmunk gatherers get you enough food to last your entire village about a month.
Another player: I attack the chipmunk tribe to steal their nuts with my elephant warriors.
Your posts will usually be a few sentences though. Everyone will start in a place similar to England, but the exact geography like locations of rivers and forests can change. Everyone will spread out into neighboring areas after the game gets going. You delete everything in brackets in the nation sheet. Those aren't the only questions you answer though, just examples. The more detail you put in the less I make up for you.

Your Location: A large slightly forested grass land
Hierachy: A form of republic with elected congress who decided many actions by a vote
Military: Smaller armies made up of manly light infantry and archers.
Physical Description: Much like humans slightly taller and pale.
Mental Description: They have slightly advanced intelligence but also have a natural need to compete for everything.
Population: 400
Other: They are skilled archers and hunters

You wait a week and you then send half your army out. Your men see that the enemy is sending out what appears to be all, or almost all, of their army. They are armed strangely though, for they appear to have a spear with a very short hilt and a very long tip, similar to the stone knifes you use for preparing meats and vegetables. These ones, however, shine in the sunlight. They are taking their time though, and are hunting frequently. It's almost as if they want you to know about their strange weaponry.

Mental Description: They are loyal to each other, but dislikes other speices. This makes them keep to themselves most of the time, but not afraid to fight.

Other: They are very religious, and worship many different gods. They believe the Elders have a special link with the gods.

They general agreement is to hunt the rabbits, since despite being large they are still simple rabbits and your people can trick them into corners and dead ends to trap them. And your people are doing quite well, now shortly before winter would be a great time to hunt them, to develop techniques so you can catch more during the winter. Of course, you do not need to hunt rabbits, for you have a built up a solid amount of preserved apples, potatoes, and other plant based foods, but meat is always welcomed among your people.

Mental Description: They are territorial creatures and are really smart in coordination and organisation but very dumb in common sense and or literacy skills as they have none.

For centuries your people have lived in peace, free from The Beasts which once plagued your people. Once you reached the coast after fleeing the forest in which your race grew up in, The Beasts seemed to have forgotten about you. You developed sturdy shelters in the forest beside the beach, and you have had an abudance of food. But recently something appears to be happening to your people. Occasionally one would find himself taking a pleasant stroll along the beach when one would see a skeleton with bits of flesh and fur sticking off. This has not been common, but rumors are spreading like wildfire and you do not know how true they actually are. You will need to do something about this issue, and soon.

You have your people develop a new form of weaponry called the 'axe'. It is similar to the spear, but the tip is longer and wider. As well, the sharp is put beside the point, instead of on it. Finally, the shaft is shorter and sturdier. All of this allows for it to be swung with considerable force and gives you a new form of warfare should it ever be needed. Some people believe that it may have a more pratical use outside of battle as well, but that remains to be seen.

They send some one scouts out after making some hunting plans, so they can try to hunt the rabbits. It get's made clear that this is supposed to be pratice for hunting the rabbits.

Send a pack of soldiers to go out and search for bones, after searching, check the area in a half a mile radius then take extra safety measures, supervising the citizens, don't let anyone leave their homes for now.

Continue to watch them and see if my men can get a better idea of the kind of weapon they are using maybe try to pick off one of their patrols and inspect the weapon.

Your (single?) scout goes out and tries to hunt rabbits. He keeps to the regular strategy of hunting rabbits, for while they are large they appear to have no natural defences at all. However, your scout is unable to get anywhere close for the rabbits always seem to bound away at the smallest hint of aproach. With such a distance between them, your scout was unable to catch any rabbits and is stumped for how to catch more.

Now that you are actually looking for the bones, your soldiers find a couple dozen skeletons lying around. They are all alone though. This is quite alarming, as no one had any idea it was this bad. As well, gathering food is more difficult. Before your people simply wandered into the forest alone or in small groups picking berries from bushes or fallen apples from the ground. Now however, you have a groups of about six soldiers gathering food, three armed with large rocks for protection. The common citizens are kept to their homes for now, but everyone is nervous. Your measures appear to have stopped the predator, but you won't be able to keep your people penned up forever.

Your scouts take out one of the enemy patrols with well aimed arrows to the throat, and inspect the weaponry. It's a gleaming blade, and is quite sharp. It is also quite sturdy and seems far surperior to anything your people have of yet developed. This action however has surely alerted them to how close you are to the final battle. Your scouts find it difficult to get close enough to see the weaponry being used, but at one point a scout sees a training session in which they use mostly a slashing action.

*Yes, you may join. From your description I take it your people are aesexual, right? As well, your people haven't yet met any species intelligent enough to have a langauge.*

For centuries since your people have discovered culture, the Drakonians have been thriving. Birth rates are low for your people, but death rates are even lower. Being the apex predator in the area with nothing to contest you, for the most part your peoples sketch art into fallen trees they find to distract themselves. But recently a new predator has come into your territory. It is similar in ways to the coyotes you hunt, but about four times the size. This is an unique problem, for no one from your society ever remembers there being a beast larger than themselves. So far they do not appear to be a threat, but they are contesting you for food.

Keep patrolling the area, but let people out of their homes now, but any citizens leaving to gather food must take 3 soldiers to escort them. Try to create a small wall around the area for extra safety and make sure every citizen has a coconut shell helmet.

Your people are develop a more complex housing system as opposed to the old way of simply leaning sticks against a tree, in which saplings are cut down and tied together in a cone shape, using a tough vine at the top. Your builders call this structure a 'teepee'. As well, it is found that if you keep meat in colder areas as opposed to hot areas it stays good for longer. You really don't have any cold storage ares yet, but at least it keeps the people who haven't learned this yet from keeping food in the sun. As well, this takes a few years so your population grows. Also, the deer population has almost completely recovered so you have more food. Unfortunately, there seems to be a large increase in wolf attacks, almost as if the wolves are attacking you delibritaly and not just for food.

When your scouts get anywhere near the wargs, what the common citizens have dubbed the new creatures, they become extremely aggresive and attack. A couple of scouts have died like this, but the strangest thing is that they completely ignore you unles you get in fifty meters in which they charge. The only infomation you have about them is that they seem territorial, but maybe even... respect? your territory. Although the land they now dwell in has been long considered your territory by your leaders, but prehaps the wargs do not now this.

*No coconuts grow in this climate, and unlike Monty Python, no swallows, African or otherwise, can carry coconuts.*

Your people wear a large shell on their heads for protection. Although this probaly won't offer any safety from The Beast, it gives them a small comfort which they are quite happy with. To keep up with the demand of soldiers when you previously only had a small prepared force, a new law was made in which any male Furbian who can throw a large rock three meters or more can qualify as a soldier. Currently there have been no recent attacks, but the more eccentric of your people are claiming that The Beast is only waiting for you to let your guard down. These same people are no doubt only waiting for tin foil to be invented, so they can make hats out of the substance. Currently they do with placing small shells all throughout their hair, which really is quite unhigenic.
