Something I came across today which I thought was pretty cool, here's my loadout:
Comfortable clothing, M14 rifle with silencer, scope and flashlight, knife for meele encounters, two boxes of spare ammo and a ton of food because chances are once I find a safezone I wouldn't want to leave there for a long time
Post your own and add a sentence or two about your choices.
You're not going to make a crossbow bolt from scratch. I have one, and the amount of force exerted on a bolt is enormous. Mine is a smaller model. The draw weight is 100 lbs, and it fires bolts at approximately 350 feet per second. Plus the fletching, nock and a useful tip (and the glue to hold everything together, if you're not going to use machinery), you will be lucky to scrounge up the supplies to make even one.
That's partly why I wanted a longbow, instead.
But are good for eliminating mass threats and creating a distraction. They're certainly better than empty pockets, and I'd rather kill the immediate threat than try to outrun it, which is what you would resort to.
No. My skillt would make short work of them.
Fixed:
Now the weight is 29.42kg. I think I used the wrong bayonet last time.
A longbow or a compound bow? I assume you mean a compound bow, since a longbow is much harder to aim, less durable and often much taller than a compound bow. Besides, you'd still need fletching, nocks and arrowheads (and the tools needed to combine them).
I said longbow because I meant longbow. Not that a compound wouldn't do fine. Perhaps it's just nostalgia.
I think you place a bit too much confidence in your ability to kill any number of zombies by hitting them with a skillet. It's hardly an effective weapon, especially in the case of killing a zombie, which often requires decapitation or brain "surgery."
Which is why I would opt for the large stainless steel dish, the rim of which can be ground into a blade without clogging the grinder with teflon.
Actually...would fire kill a zombie? We can safely assume they are immune to pain, and it would take a while for the fire to actually reach and incinerate the brain or heart, depending on the required target. Perhaps I should rethink my Molotov approach.
That would depend largely on the state of decay. "Fresh" zombies should burn as well as anyone else. Gas-bloated corpses may explode. Others are probably more resilient.
You don't have anything to attach the bayonet to anyway. You'd be safer with a survival knife or a machete.
The machete is too long to be a good sidearm, at least in my opinion.
I read in the description the tan cartridge's for long rifle weapon. You can see the sleeping bag and tent in my supplies. I will face the zombies with a sniper way: hiding, sneaking, camping, cooking food and beverages in the woods and then I can fill the empty bottle.
Dragunov is a bit weak for a long distance shot, not as good as Springfield. But Dragunov has a fast bullet reload, so you can get two advantages. I will use Uzi and Pistol if I am in a state of emergency, mean lil bit noisy. I made a little mistake with the ammo, I can not find ammo for the Dragunov and Uzi.
I got around to making something that is along the lines of what I would like. The quantities of each thing aren't exactly how I'd want them, but I can't be bothered to get it exact.
Can we make this more organized? The type of terrain; climate; if you're going to cross-country, camping (city), camping (type of terrain); rainfall, humidity; things like that, because a setup for Brazil, (my country) is totally different from a setup of Mexico, USA, or Canada.
